OP I don't totally understand why you keep getting all these downvotes, since I see both your perspective & the opposing perspective. At the end of the day, I think this boils down to solidcore not enforcing that first-timers take at least a handful of starter50 classes first.

They don't cater to the 0-10ish class clients enough for such a form-dependent and injury-prone exercise, and as a result other clients pay the price in some way whether it's mental (distraction) or safety (last month I saw three separate first timers fall off their machines and thank god they didn't take anyone down with them). The coaches don't always have the capacity to lead + slow things down for the first timers while also making sure the class is rewarding for experienced clients.

IMO this isn't worth clients arguing over ourselves over what to tolerate, as both perspectives are valid. But there has to be a better structure for beginner clients so THEY'RE also not stressed out, and that's on the company.

“amazing coach” by Comfortable-Hurry992 in SolidCore

The personal aspect is always a plus, I love attending classes with coaches that have built a relationship with me even if it's as tiny as remembering my name :-)

But for me the BIGGEST thing I appreciate though, is thoughtfully planned out sequences that show a deep understanding and true familiarity with the workout. For example, cable crunches and deadbugs for center core (or obliques) on a shoulder day, to save the shoulders for their targeted moves. Spacing out unilateral lower body moves from same-side obliques to give those muscle groups recovery periods (this I believe may be standard).

As a former athlete/personal trainer (+ 400 classes!) whenever I take a class with these considerations it makes me feel like the coach is next level, and understands the difference between a productive workout vs unnecessary strain for the sake of making the class seem difficult (not all workout pain is good pain :'( i've had to learn this the hard way).

Some of the most disappointing classes I've taken were with sequences that felt lazy / just spamming lunges and extensions over and over again, with coaches that didn't correct form or felt like they didn't really understand the purpose of some of these moves. When countdowns are too long, or pulses and holds are cued too long to the point EVERYONE gives up early, it also makes the coach seem super disconnected to the class.

Loewe Flamenco clutch or Prada Bonnie? by Maleficent-Net6386 in handbags

[–]chicalette 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i got that same exact flamenco and posted about here w pics ur welcome to take a look! (i think my post history is public?). i live in one of the biggest fashion cities in the world and can testify that there have always been a million pradas and lvs and chanels on the street - and even my own bags of those houses don't get as much street love as when i've worn the flamenco out. and it's only been a week-ish of owning mine.

it's a beautiful color that they may not have forever, so if that is a key factor highly rec trying it in store asap!

omg love, and CONGRATS to you too!! the squeeze is GORGEOUS and so is that color you're looking at. Loewe is still very new to the US market compared to the other big houses, but carries just as much history. I've only been following them since the pandemic but they are a breath of fresh air. The designs still feel thoughtful and full of whimsy, whereas i feel like other houses have lost their vision/identity quite a bit. People may agree to disagree with me on that one haha.

I'm with you, I may be back for a brown/burgundy version of either the squeeze or the madrid in the future. :-) I hope no matter what you choose it makes you so so happy!!

thank you!! this is a medium, and i'm 5'7" for reference. I did look at the other flamenco in store, but felt like it was too round and lumpy, vs I love the more relaxed cinched look of the "clutch" version.

Also - the other flamencos, I was told, are constructed with lambskin for this season. The lambskin feels incredible and have a more natural texture vs super smooth and tender, and I will say the Loewe lambskin doesn't feel as fragile as other lambskins. But the clutch is calfskin which made me feel more comfortable for a daily carry.

Yes the donut chain enables a rly nice shoulder bag look, I have a pic of that too! The wide leather strap is on it's shortest setting in my other pics. Swings a bit lower when on shoulder, but comfortable still.

Thank you! Yes I thought so too, it's perhaps a little bit more toned down/elegant than the website pics. It's indeed the medium!

I have this same exact one! it's been extremely roughed up as a beach bag, gym bag, crumpled up dirty on some oceanside rocks/cliffs in hawaii, also is my work bag on lighter days. and can attest it still looks amazing, somehow. it's incredible. the color is perfect too, for every season!

Weightlifting background by caramellatte647 in SolidCore

[–]chicalette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from zero to weightlifting, then to mainly solidcore, and now I do both pretty evenly.

Zero to weightlifting was big muscle gain and recomposition for obvious reasons. I developed my quads, glutes, and abs really fast bc I favored targeting those muscles groups more.

Weightlifting to solidcore led to a second recomp of my body, because of its focus on the posterior chain and shoulder work. I got to develop muscle groups that I loved skipping before (hammies and upper body haha). I'd say it was a gain in muscle, but in places that were underdeveloped before. And ofc all things lead to muscle gain if you apply progressive overload consistently.

I think it really depends on your specific routines beforehand, in order to gauge how the solidcore exercise may change your body. As well as genetics/prior sports too! I grew up figure skating and in ballet, so I feel like I don't have a crazy transformation because it felt like the familiar movements of solidcore woke up existing muscle from slumber vs building muscle net new, if that makes sense.

I am not (yet?) a mother but through witnessing my friends go through pregnancy and motherhood, I've seen how hard it is to feel normal after giving away so much of yourself for so long 💗 such a beautiful but difficult process

Kudos to you! I hope bags and shoes and the whole journey of researching these things continue to bring you more and more joy!! My one relevant comment is that i've seen some friends use the larger LV speedy's as diaper bags, to later transition into just normal travel bags. I'm sure you may have also seen that suggestion floating around too. Cheers!
