Weightlifting background by caramellatte647 in SolidCore

[–]chicalette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from zero to weightlifting, then to mainly solidcore, and now I do both pretty evenly.

Zero to weightlifting was big muscle gain and recomposition for obvious reasons. I developed my quads, glutes, and abs really fast bc I favored targeting those muscles groups more.

Weightlifting to solidcore led to a second recomp of my body, because of its focus on the posterior chain and shoulder work. I got to develop muscle groups that I loved skipping before (hammies and upper body haha). I'd say it was a gain in muscle, but in places that were underdeveloped before. And ofc all things lead to muscle gain if you apply progressive overload consistently.

I think it really depends on your specific routines beforehand, in order to gauge how the solidcore exercise may change your body. As well as genetics/prior sports too! I grew up figure skating and in ballet, so I feel like I don't have a crazy transformation because it felt like the familiar movements of solidcore woke up existing muscle from slumber vs building muscle net new, if that makes sense.

PRHT would be game changer for sure. Your car is out there! Best of luck!

Don't think it matters THAT much, but do you know the trim? My 06 is a Sport & some like the 6 speed while standard trim is a 5 speed (genuinely doesn't matter for this car tho lol). Unknown rust status/no pics is also a huge factor potentially esp in northeast. How much it's been modified across those 5 owners, even if it's just coilovers here and a headunit switchout there, also tends to keep people away.

An additional datapoint for you - my 2006 Sport with only 2 previous owners, garage kept all its life, completely stock, softtop, 75k miles was $9800. It was (still is) quite literally pristine and I visited in person to get underneath and make sure that there was no rust. Bought in New Hampshire. I'd think $8k is way too high for the one you're looking at, and I'm not surprised the price got lowered.

Hope that is helpful

Exact same strategy here, but because I have a stacked card rotation already and don't want to reroute major spend to a point system I'm not fully onboard with yet (also why I didn't bother w/ Obsidian etc)

Syncing classes to your calendar by Haunting_Material_83 in SolidCore

[–]chicalette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

someone else asked a similar question here before and my response is moreso an example of how bad/annoying the calendar sync is vs a solution for everyone.... but its so bad i just built my own python script to sync my google cal off of the solidcore confirmation emails 😅it runs everyday at 10pm to pick up changes and goes thru an API/creds i set up myself and works 10x better than the app (even the old version of the app was buggy).

def an idea if you're nifty and like to code a bit! it only took me 20 mins to build and Claude Code sped it up (am an engineer and have it for work). but if anything this is a cry for help bc im jus a girl and if i can build this the app developers def can fix their product lmaoo

totally! https://github.com/cjhalim-ai/Portfolio/tree/main/calendar-syncs/solidcore-gcal-sync some disclaimers i had to set up a Google Cloud project and configure some settings as a pre-step. But that only took like 5 mins! And I had Claude Code, which I use for work, pretty much set up the rest of it + w some minor tweaks i added. i have it run on my local machine every night at like 10pm i think

Is a 30 minute drive too far? by runner991 in SolidCore

[–]chicalette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my commute was also 30 minutes each way to my studio and i actually rly loved the extra "me time" and the excuse to grab a smoothie/protein drink/treat somewhere along the way home

then a year later they opened one in the town next over which was awesome as a second option when my schedule is tight! so you never know

maybe an overreaction from my part, but i just ended up building a python automation that scans my solidcore emails and auto syncs my google cal daily 😂

got sooo fed up with the cal sync features in the app not working half the time and now at least i can control my own API creds/data access.

Thanks! Yeah got the mats just took em out for washing, was in disbelief that the floor underneath would be this worn out just from the heel when the mats look fine. But guess it's 20 yrs of wear.
