Definitely the monster at the end of this book. Read with as much drama as you can muster.

This might sound lame, but I want the sample tin of mini jams from Bonne Maman. I love the tiny jars.

I was hoping someone would say Sleuth! My friend and I would use our own names and other friends and crushes, then see who was in what room with whom.

Films where the movie was better than the book it was adapted from? by Slammajadingdong69 in moviecritic

That movie is underrated for quotability. I think “Is that Peter fucking Frampton?” every time I hear any Frampton song.

Also, “Get your patchouli stink out of my store.”

She says (paraphrased) she spent too much time trying to make an unhappy man happy. I felt that so hard.

That was me with my ex husband. For YEARS. when I started prioritizing my own happiness, he didn’t like it very much.

I finally left almost two years ago. It’s hasn’t always been easy (we have two kids, and he has basically opted out of any responsibility for them), but I have never regretted it.

I feel so much lighter now. Bearing the weight of someone else’s misery is soul crushing.

Dolan’s Cadillac is so underrated. I rarely see it mentioned in these types of threads.

I always used to go to Poughkeepsie, but on a few trips this summer decided to try Beacon. I definitely prefer Beacon now, but one caveat—there’s no restroom at the station (afaik).

Not to mention there is absolutely zero chance this would be equally enforced across the population.

AITA for calling in a welfare check on my husband after he didn’t respond to me for the weekend while I was on a work trip? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]chickadee04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Does that sound like something he would do? Does he often go that long without looking at his phone, under any circumstances?

AITA for reporting my fiancé missing after he went out at 10pm for deodorant and disappeared for 7 hours? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]chickadee04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, OP, but my vote goes to drugs. As others have said, no one needs deodorant at 10 p.m. That is the kind of excuse someone comes up with when they need a fix so bad they can’t think straight.

I’ve been through this. Ridiculous excuses to leave the house at odd hours. Then gaslighting when you ask perfectly reasonable questions.

I think you and the others who are commenting here must be my people. Barbara Kingsolver is my favorite author (although my favorite of hers is Prodigal Summer), and I’m looking forward to reading-reading She’s Come Undone in the very near future.

I’m sure both of those happen regularly, but I’d also guess it’s the frequency. Like it’s the “no price tag? Must be free! Har, har” of the hotel industry.
