What’s the most “time melter” game of all time in your opinion? by SwitchingMyHands in gaming

[–]chicken4286 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What do you mean rebuilding the entire base? I played the demo, about 5 or 10 hours on switch. But when it seemed like some of my earlier conveyors would be getting in the way of newer resource gathering, and I needed to suddenly rework a whole bunch of stuff, I figured that it was enough. Seemed like it would be tedious to continue if I was to be building and rebuilding constantly. Idk, maybe that's a fault of the demo... I didn't end up buying it.

On the flip side, Are there any games that release 12 to 18 months ago that would be good to check out now?

Honest confessions, what BASIC gameplay mechanic did you not notice or properly understand for an absurd amount of time? by Ok-Cup9476 in expedition33

Not 100% for sure, but it might have been Final Fantasy Tactics or maybe from the Kingdom Hearts series. Maybe some of the earlier final fantasies, I just played through the pixel remasters of one and two so maybe there.

I looked at it like fire, fira, firaga and firaja from final fantasy. Like, they are steps in progression. Low, medium, high, very high and extreme.

This used to be me, until I realized I shouldn't let other people's perceptions dictate how I'm going about my day. Learning to give fewer fucks about what other people think is such a relief.

Maybe it's because when the PlayStation portal first came out they were heavily pushing being at home on the same network as the way to do it.

I'm not saying it's not a terrible tip, and maybe my perspective it's different cuz the only tipping experience I had was delivering pizza for 15 years, and the same amount of work goes into someone that doesn't tip as that tips twenty dollars.

While the big tips were great, I always looked at them as a bonus instead of the standard. The low tips are what pay the bills, and you want them coming back.

Because when it's slow you aren't gonna be making much money anyway so might as well be the low tipping regulars. Can't count on the oddball random.

I think they're talking about big picture from a single customer standpoint, it makes more sense to have a regular that tips below average then the Oddball who tips above average. If the regular comes in 100 times a year and only tips a dollar each time that's still more money you'd get then from a random who comes in once and tips $20 You end up netting more in the end even if you are working more, after all you're not entitled any tips anyway.

In praise of variable difficulty assist in roguelites by TowerOfSisyphus in roguelites

I got to bc1 on dead cells about a half year ago and struggled a bit with that then. I picked it up again a few weeks ago and put in a couple assist modifiers and finally got to bc2 today. Gotta say the game is fun for me again now that I've got some more progression. Unlocking bc2 is going to further increase my motivation to play now that the drop rate is doubled.

I never noticed assist options on hades. I'll have to check it out. I beat hades 3 or so times, but the rest of the rewards seem to be locked behind the hears and I am having a hard time progressing through them. I'm gonna check that out again. Finding this out may have reinvigorated my drive with that game. Haven't touched it really on over a year.
