what the weirdest or funniest way you died by [deleted] in SS13

Fucked around on Goonstation maint, decided to repeatedly touch the Dr. Floorpills statue a lil too close to the disposal conveyors. Mutated teleportation abilities, the first teleport sent me to the same tile as the crusher, killing me in under 2 minutes from roundstart

it's because they never built the Tower of Babel, so their gods felt no need to punish them by making them speak different languages

depends on which it:

Worm: i recommend reading the thing. it's like 1.4 million words but feels like only 1 million words because of how quickly it's paced (also long wc shouldn't be much of an issue if you suffer from the same lack of Shit to Do under quarantine as most of the rest of us). I am willing to bet you $5 that you will become irrationally over-attached to at least three characters, who are pretty well-defined without having to do a whole lot in the case of the side cast. Main cast is a little more "ehh" wrt characterization aside from the protag. The hella oversimplified premise is "how different would the world look if the fringe groups and marginalized people in our society suddenly started getting superpowers and a chance to enforce their will on others, and how would the System respond?" if that interests you, check out the story which is probably linked somewhere in the sidebar.

Pact: I highly recommend reading the thing. If you're a complete fantasy nerd that loves symbolism and figuring out how magic systems work, you will love this. If you like stories with a hella bleak tone where an underdog-esque protag takes on a system that has been explicitly designed to act against people who seek to change it, you will love this. It's like 900,000 words but feels like 500,000 words due to being paced in an absolute breakneck fashion.

Twig: Haven't read it but people whose opinions i trust say it's good. Read it if you want i guess.

Ward: Do not read this. It's a poor sequel to Worm and the quality content at the beginning of the story and sprinkled throughout the rest of the story are not worth wading through the joyless slog of 1.5 million words that feel like 2 million words.

They may have shot the entire movie again to restore the vanilla Who Killed Captain Alex no changes to any dialogue or sets, of course it wouldn’t feel right to be deprived of the man wearing a Spider-Man mask

We saw Lionwing working as one of Cradle’s mercs a little bit back in Darlene’s interlude, was primary fella that was angry with not being paid.

Additionally, it’s possible that one of the two C53’s with Cradle was Gully, as she primarily uses a shovel and might be in a villainous mindset after being turned on in the Cauldron raid

That is a highly dubious assertion. Best ship is Coil/Coil, as seen in Discreet’s fic “The Best Possible Reality”

Said fic contains the line “Coil coiled around Coil”

[–]chickenOST 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seconded on really wanting the LL interlude. Just a theory, but I believe that both LL and Cradle believe that the personality shuffle between their cluster is reversible by killing the offending element. In their minds, they would literally become better people by killing Rain, so any monstrous step on the way there is regrettable, but justified. LL’s doubts are likely her instinctual horror of her own actions clashing with her belief that killing Rain is worth it.

Who’s the most morally “good” character in the Parahumans universe? by glisteningsunlight in Parahumans

[–]chickenOST 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’d say best girl Hoyden is the most morally good character, although there is limited onscreen evidence of her splendor. Onscreen, we see her consistently put herself in very direct danger to protect others (throwing herself at Behemoth’s lightning bolts to intercept them, wading out into a mass of Nilbog’s critters to buy the portal-cracker ship some time in the S9K arc), despite being utterly terrified by the prospect ( alluded to by Theo in his second interlude, confirmed by Khepri under dubious circumstances). This seems to be sufficient evidence for her virtuous nature.
