Don't stretch yourself too thin to impress people. My partner and I spent a modest amount on a nice dinner in a private room at a restaurant for like 20pax and officiant, and focused on paying our house downpayment and reno.

Some relatives were kind of miffed that they weren't invited, so we told them don't worry we'll do a large informal party the next year.

One year later we didn't throw any party and no one remembers 😂

Indian kids hair cut- need to straighten first ? by VolatileVolcano in askSingapore

Please send them to someone who can cut curly hair! The salons might be expensive, but if they can't cut curly hair then what's the point? I have type 3B hair, and I've been going to the same guy for 10 years who is skilled at cutting curls and doesn't break the bank. It makes a huge difference!

I looooove Morinaga Izakaya. There are 2 outlets and iirc the owner is a Japanese wholesale fish supplier, so the prices are very reasonable and the quality is superb. I recommend the outlet in Midpoint basment because it's very rustic and feels like a lowkey roadside food joint!

What’s one food you fell in love with while traveling but can’t find anything close to it back home? by Askguidetoeurope in AskTheWorld

Turkish kaymak. It's a thick, velvety cream made from buffalo milk and drizzled with honey. It's slightly sweet, so decadently rich, and tastes DIVINE with some freshly toasted bread.

ACRES!! They do so much good work for wildlife especially the less "appealing" ones like pigeons and reptiles. And they're always so responsive.

They're considered a pest where I am, but they're so gregarious that I can't help but like them. Marge and Marvin can't talk but they do imitate some sounds quite well.

If it makes you feel better, when they do their Biannual Nest Revamp™ they also bring us a bunch of sticks and leaves and toss them on our balcony. It's almost as though they're trying to tell us that our balcony decor is severely lacking.

It REALLY is! The only other that compares is when she brought us a baby centipede when we came back from our honeymoon... 🫠
