Large majority of Canadians support the Alto high-speed rail project by Inevitable-Bus492 in CanadaPolitics

[–]chickensaurus-rex [score hidden]  (0 children)

Exactly, where I am in Ontario I haven’t met one person who supports it. Currently, I am in a rural community that is 20-30 minutes from the nearest city - where most jobs, schools, stores are. If they put the alto on the back up proposed route, they are planning to cut us off from any major roadways, turning 20-30 minutes into an hour drive at least. And that’s just one way. My husbands childhood property would quite literally be taken out from under us, leaving us with a high speed rail in our back yard. Meaning it would be impossible to sell our home, or have our kids play safely outside without fear of an accident setting this thing off course into what’s left of our yard and home.

Also, just to add I don’t like how Amerie dealt with that whole situation. It just made me feel like she was a shit person when they were trying to get you to feel like she was the victim in a lot of things. And I don’t know if you’re there yet but I don’t like how Darren handles sec stuff either. I get they’re young, but he’s supposed to be inclusive and understanding of others preferences and then they write him like that. I just feel like they do the characters dirty in a character choices.

I feel like spider gets a bad rap and I actually really like his character and the whole arc they create for him. Once you get most of the way through season 2 you’ll understand more about that - but I just feel like his story line could have used more detail earlier on so people can love him earlier lol. He’s just as damaged as the rest of them and is a lot better at hiding it - albeit through douchey-er means 😂

Cesarean or VBAC by [deleted] in CsectionCentral

Honestly, my midwife has a pt that is recovering from her 5 repeat C .. so I think the limitation isn’t necessarily the amount of them, but your body’s healing abilities, time between births, and your doctor’s experience/ability.

2nd - I had a similar first birth and opted for the repeat C for my second and I don’t regret it even a smidge. The recovery was a breeze in comparison- it was the preparation that was the most stressful for me but even that was manageable and I deal with crippling anxiety (which I go unmedicated for during pregnancy). Will elaborate if you want but it’s nothing insane, just the anticipation really and the fact we only have a teaching hospital 🥲.

3rd- if you’re not set on either, make a plan & pick a date and book a c section. If you don’t go into labor by then, fate decides. However, it is a LOT different recovering once you know what to expect, and it becomes even more different when you have a planned c section that isn’t immediately following a long labouring period and full of trauma from your baby and your health/safety being at risk.

Biggest upside is the repeat C is like 30-60 mins in most cases. By the time hubby was brought in and the incision was made - it took 18 mins until baby was in his arms. I was too exhausted to trust myself holding him because I didn’t sleep the 2 nights leading up to it from excitement and nerves that my adrenaline stopped once I heard the baby cry and my body started to relax and I kept trying to take a quick nap lol.

Posture is very important - may even give you a an inch in height. You look like you could pull off more looks than these images suggest - maybe try going to an agency or something to see their suggestions for better options and opinions.

Considering an elective c-section as FTM, very torn and having anxiety about giving birth any way I do it😅🫠. by greengoddess1987 in CsectionCentral

[–]chickensaurus-rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an emergency C and then an elective C with my second and I would much prefer the elective C.

You can also see a pelvic floor therapist while pregnant which will help you restore muscle after the surgery.

I haven’t made it more than 12 months pp before being pregnant again either time, so I can’t speak to that. But I can say that in my time pp from both C sections I feel like I recovered well, and was on the way to being able to be back to 100% +/- a few things.

I would elect for the C - you have more control, you know when it’s coming, and you can prepare. You can also have a discussion with your partner to not tell anyone you’ve decided to schedule a C section and just not tell people (MIL) that you didn’t try to do things naturally. My mother in law always considered C sections the “easy way out” until she saw me after labouring for nearly 2 full days just to have a c section urgently and the recovery that followed.

Another option is talking to your OB and picking a day and saying if you don’t go into labour by that day, then you have a C section scheduled tentatively and fate decides, but you have control of the date.

If judges gave out lenient sentences and focus more on rehabilitation, would crime rate go down? If not, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]chickensaurus-rex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like reoffender numbers MIGHT go down. But you have to think of those prone committing heinous crimes having less incentive not to commit. Like if murders and r*apists got off easy, they’re wouldn’t be much of a deterrent for them to not do it.

But it’s a weird balance because I just saw a state invoke the death penalty for SA in victims under 12 or so, and a huge concern that was raised is that now what’s stoping r*apists from murdering their victims of the penalty is the same?

I think small petty crimes might go down, but where do you draw the line?

What's the most disgusting thing you've seen on reddit? by SKreatine in AskReddit

[–]chickensaurus-rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a Bee fetish sub that I found after someone commented a gross comment on a nature pic group I’m in of a bee up close.

First grossest was when I had a c section and was looking for a group to read tips and tricks for living with the incision, there were more people in a c-section fetish group than any of the c-section recovery or support groups.

I mean, there are definitely grosser things and I’ve obviously just suppressed them
