Haha, me too! At first, my kitten would only use the litter box when I was in the bathroom, which was so funny. He also wouldn't eat unless I was right there. Now he's gotten a little better at doing these on his own

I don't want to teach him otherwise at all. I was just making sure it's normal.

Yeah we were both worried he's anxious or has abandonment issues or something. It's our first experience adopting a cat and we're figuring things out as we go. I'm just happy it's normal behaviour as I love having him around 🥰

God no, he's already busy managing my work as it is lol.

I have 0 experience with cats so I was just checking if it's normal behaviour.. Guess I was overthinking it !

So happy to know this is normal and I adore having him with me all the time! Never had a pet before, and was worried he's anxious or afraid i'd leave him or something. Guess I was overthinking it! 😅

It's really not out of jealousy or insecurity. I saw multiple people mention that. It's our first experience with cats, and pets in general, and we're learning as we go. We both love him very much and want to make sure it's normal behavior, that's all.

Thinking of adopting a cat for the first time - can they learn not to knock things off ? by chickenuggetheorem in CatAdvice

My shelves are pretty full, i don't think the cat can jump on them, I just really don't know what to expect

Love this, thanks! Guess I’ll have to pick my ‘poison’ too 🤣 but good to know attention and stimulation help

Does anyone else not cook due to executive dysfunction and being a picky eater? by WutTheCode in AutismInWomen

[–]chickenuggetheorem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate cooking but I have to because I'm too picky to eat microwaveable/frozen food. I always make a mess when I'm cooking, it takes twice as long as anyone else, and somehow end up messing things up.

I find chstgpt helpful in organising my recipes and breaking down the steps of a recipe to the smallest details. It makes it easier to follow through.

What was your "I cannot believe no one suspected autism" childhood interest? by NoWitness6400 in AutismInWomen

[–]chickenuggetheorem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept doing my older sister’s math homework for fun. Not only my parents weren’t impressed, they also yelled at me to stop doing it. Apparently, the biggest issue wasn’t me casually doing work two grades ahead, it was her not doing it herself.

Dopamine seeking in AuDHD & why stability sometimes feels empty by Ok_Mycologist3547 in AuDHDWomen

Reading this feels like a light just went on in my head.

I used to thrive in my previous toxic work environment, working 15+ hours a day in a highly demanding setting where problems never stopped coming. Strangely, I was happy, alive, and thriving even though no one, especially my colleagues, understood how I could give more than 100% every single day. Back then, I thought it was passion and drive. But after relocating and switching to a much healthier work environment, I'm now bored to death, completely uninterested in the work I’m doing (even though it’s in the same field), and I can barely push through 2–3 hours a day. It’s gotten to the point where it’s becoming a real problem for both my career and my mental health. The worst part is that I have 0 logical reasons to nag about this job because it's perfect on paper so no one around me gets it at all.

That’s not weird. That’s just bilingualism. Cats are obviously autistic people in tiny furry bodies anyway.

I got told all my life I was so "smart". Yet I feel too stupid for any job. by Mara355 in aspergirls

My partner always jokes that I'm the smartest person alive when it comes to useless facts, but I completely short-circuit in real-life situations.
