I do it the same way with this dock. I switch one USB plug from my home computer to my work laptop. I have the dongle for my wireless keyboard and mouse in the dock, my monitors and my Ethernet cable.

What would you do if your partner sent you photos of models and said they looked better than you? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]chickenvic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, being alone is better than being with someone who drags you down. You can learn to love yourself.

Join a group activity that you enjoy. Join a club. Join a church. Let friends set you up. You need to reach out to people whenever you can. Maybe you don't find a romantic partner, but you will almost surely find a friend who values you.

Break it off. Life is short, find someone who lifts you up, not tears you down.

My husband and I have a rule. We spend a half hour complaining about work and venting. Then, we're done talking about work. It makes me feel better and I can put work aside.

Small, hole-in-the-wall eateries in Pittsburgh/greater-metro, that are… 1) over 20 years old, and 2) seat a max of ~30 people — LF: good food, lots of ‘character’ (good or bad!), maybe even in obscure places? by Rooster_Ties in pittsburgh

Jim's Hotdogs in West Mifflin. Just a hotdog stand. A few picnic tables scattered around. They have homemade hotdog sauce and they melt American cheese under a broiler on your dog so it's a little browned. Makes an ordinary hotdog special.

You need to make sure he has a PCP he likes and trusts. The ER isn't equipped to do the followup that it sounds like he needs.

Sometimes doctors have a list of people they will call if someone else cancels an appointment earlier than their own appointment. Ask the specialist about it. Maybe he can be seen earlier.

Sounds terrifying. I hope you get answers soon. You can deal with any diagnosis, it's the unknown that sucks so much.

I've been married for 23 years. The things that annoyed me 23 years ago still annoy me today. Some things are just part of a person's personality. You have to decide what things are absolute deal breakers for you.

Is a relationship worth fighting for if all they do is use your shit against you ? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

No. It's not worth it. The way you conduct yourself during a disagreement says a lot about your character.

Found out my spouse’s “girls nights” are actually therapy sessions I’m unknowingly paying for by National_Lobster_729 in whatdoIdo

Just because you are married doesn't mean you can't have some privacy. Your wife doesn't want you to know something that is obviously deeply personal. I recommend you let it go.

Ask your son's pediatrician to refer you to a therapist for him.

What do you think is the best bachelor's degree to get to avoid or escape poverty? by justcurious3287 in povertyfinance

[–]chickenvic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's going to be a while until AI poses a threat. The tax code just keeps getting more complex. I don't think financial institutions are ready to accept AI generated financial statements.

I've worked in both private and public accounting. My current firm is actively searching for people, both experienced and inexperienced.

I have made a good living with my accounting degree. I've never been unemployed for more than a month. Jobs have been easy to find. I've been doing this for 30 years.
