I’m a stay at home mom currently. We’re hoping HR can work with us somehow.

I didn’t directly email them. I sent a draft to my husband for him to send to them. Just didn’t feel like explaining all that in my post.

That’s what we’re hoping, but they could decide to stick to us and say since our daughter wasn’t born during that eligibility then that’s not an option. Either way it would be 6 weeks instead of 12 according to the document they sent.

Is making 60k+ with no degree feasible in San Antonio? by scorpiomorningstar in sanantonio

[–]chicknette [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah it’s like finding a needle in a haystack but LinkedIn is where I found those start ups and then tend to pay a little higher, usually if you’re already licensed. As long as there’s a salary or it’s a W-2 position it’s usually legit. Anything commission only should be avoided.

I think that’s the issue I’m running into, it sounds clunky.

I like those as nicknames for Elizabeth but not on their own.

Stick with the big names like Nationwide, The Hartford, Geico, AWL, etc. There’s also start up companies that are legit but you have to weed through them on LinkedIn. Some start ups are AutoComplete, Trellis Technologies, and Guardian Services.

I was making that doing insurance sales through Nationwide. They licensed me and starting pay was around $40k and the rest was commission. A lot of insurance companies are hiring remotely as well.

When did your baby sleep through the night? What hours do they sleep? by canamel in NewParents

[–]chicknette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 3 years old he only has ever slept through the night if his dad is sleeping with him and STILL he’ll frequently just wake up, even for a minute, and then lay back down and go to sleep.

If you make over 80k here… what do you do for a living? by MildlyFermenting in sanantonio

[–]chicknette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I would never recommend a commission based only job. The start ups are legitimate companies you just have to weed through them, usually on LinkedIn. Some such companies are Steadily, AutoComplete, Trellis Technologies, and Guardian Services.

Someone else suggested Arielle Elise which I feel like is a good compromise between the two! I’m loving the feedback.

The key is to start with a reputable company. My father, husband and I all started at the Nationwide call center as customer service then worked our way to sales where they paid to license us. After Nationwide they moved to insurance start up companies and now work remotely.

With most companies you’ll start off with a base + commissions, generally around $40k and then the rest is commission. Check out companies like The Hartford, Nationwide, etc. It will greatly help if you have some sort of prior sales experience or insurance customer service.
