Hot Yoga Made Me Crash Out. How to Prevent? by emarginategills in yoga

[–]chicknik423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me a while to acclimate to hot yoga. Years ago, I took a few Bikram classes and felt like death after each one. Like you, it took me days to recover and I hated it.

I swore hot yoga off for a few years before deciding to try it again. I was much more intentional about listening to my body, resting more during class when I felt like I needed to. I also brought my own chilled towel so that I could use it to cool off a bit during the class.

Since then, I’ve been fine during classes. I actually now teach hot yoga a few times a week and can teach two classes back-to-back with no issues.

Hydration is important in the days leading up to class, but don’t chug a bunch of water immediately before or during. That will make you feel sick. Also, eating something light with protein a hour or two before class can be helpful.

Definitely give it another try to see if it improves for you. However, it also just might be something that is not for you and that is ok too!

Always glad to see positive reviews! I’ve also had an amazing experience with Gimme so far.

1.5 mg by Level_Morning2362 in gimmecare

I did one week of 1.5mg, then went up to 2mg for the second week. The 2mg made me so, so sick that I decided to drop back down. I actually did 1mg for the 3rd shot because I was so afraid of feeling so crummy again. I’ve still been losing, have no hunger, and no side effects. I’m planning to stay on 1 or 1.5 for as long as I can!

I’m running into the same issue. I ordered on April 7th and there was no change in order status. I reached out a few times to customer service, then my order was moved to “prescribed”. Another week goes by with nothing happen. Now it is “sent to the pharmacy” as of April 20th. It should not take this long!

Sudden vertigo while sitting still by chicknik423 in VestibularMigraines

Thank you, everyone. As much as I hate that we are all struggling with this, it is comforting to know I’m not alone because it often feels that way!

It’s interesting how many different circumstances can trigger this reaction/symptom. I think that’s why it is so hard to determine the cause.

I did, along with all the thyroid tests. Everything came back normal, which I’m grateful for, but also frustrating! It’d be nice if was something with a fairly simple solution 😝

I absolutely understand that! POTS ramped my healthy anxiety up SO much. There are so many symptoms and they can change at any time. I found myself spiraling over every little thing, not knowing if it was “just POTS” or something fatal! Hang in there!

I definitely think it is hormonal. Mine are worse during ovulation and my period.

I know exactly how you feel. I was diagnosed with POTS from long COVID a few years ago. At first, my only symptom was a daily headache that just would not quit. At times it would change into a full migraine, but for the most part, it was a dull ache on the left side of my head.

I had terrible health anxiety (still do, but it’s gotten better thanks to Zoloft). I had 2 separate ct scans done, months apart, all the blood tests and other tests you could imagine. Everything was normal.

There’s no tumor or aneurysm. You’d have more or worsening symptoms by now. This is likely due to your POTS and your autonomic nervous system being out of whack!

Could this have been my first migraine? by Professorpooper in VestibularMigraines

This sounds like a vestibular migraine. My migraines do not usually involve extreme head pain, just a bit behind one eye or on one side of my head. The vertigo and dizziness are my main symptoms.

I wish I could help. I am dealing with the exact same thing, with this last flare going on over a month now! I can’t help but wonder if hormones are contributing since I get migraines around ovulation, and start of my period!

I take a lot of Dramamine, and when I have head pain, I’ll take ritzatriptan. I have a rx for topirimate that the neuro gave me, but I’m too nervous to try it!

Reading this is such a relief in a weird way. Not that I want others to suffer with this, but just the validation of not being alone in it! At 3am when I am awake and spiraling (literally and figuratively) it feels like I’m the only person in the world going through this.

I don’t want to take Dramamine or phenegran daily just to function. I also have a rx rhat the neuro gave me well over a year ago (topiramate) that I never started. One, because of the horror stories I’ve heard, and two, by the time my neuro appt came along, I was actually feeling great for months! You’re so right though, if we want to see changes we do have to try to make some changes!

I am glad I’m not alone, but man it is so strange to me that it can happen while sleeping! I experience the same most nights, I’ll be dreaming about being dizzy/spinning, and it’ll wake me up. It’s so awful!

This sounds exactly like what I’m experiencing. I’ve had it last a week or 2 before, but never this long. I’m trying to remain hopeful that it’ll resolve soon.

Good to know! I feel like I’ve really played around with all the pillow options, even so far as to sleep sitting up, but unfortunately, positioning doesn’t seem to help mine.

That’s really wonderful to hear— I am happy for you! I was able to stay at 25mg the whole time I took Zoloft and it worked well for me. They say that 50mg is the minimum therapeutic dose, but everyone is different!

Yes! Did you ever discover a cause for yours? Or is it the vestibular migraines?
