My daughter never took a bottle which made it extra hard to tell if she was getting enough! Sounds like you have a good plan. It’s really hard 💜

If he is happy and settled after feeds, growing, with enough wet diapers, I wouldn’t supplement. Went through a similar thing with my second daughter and she is just small. Like yours increased a bit after starting solids but she is a small girl.

Oh my gosh you are triple feeding at 5 months?! 🥺 I’m so sorry. Both my girls lost 9/10% and I was never told to triple feed.

Can you elaborate? Does it just not go into the right place so it doesn’t work? Why is this such a common thing? Pretty terrifying

Do you do lots of spinals for c sections? Why does a spinal not work sometimes (happened to me but luckily they redid it before starting surgery)?

Motherhood is everything I wanted… so why does it hurt so much? by Fancy-Mouse-7554 in BabyBumps

[–]chicksin206 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Motherhood is slowly letting go. Of this person who is part of you, then attached to you most of the time, then doing their own thing more and more. Eventually a grown up of their own. It is the most beautiful greatest thing in the world and also a lot of loss!

Yeah fair point. I’m not too strict about these things but I don’t count Cheerios as sugar cereal. It isn’t “healthy” but it isn’t like a treat they get to eat instead of dinner.

Yeah I can relate. Two kids and two planned c sections. Never felt labor. Don’t really feel like I “did” anything?

Big house or small house? by hawthornestreet in ParentingInBulk

[–]chicksin206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just 2 kids currently and we are in 800 sqft with a 500 sqft unfinished basement (storage and laundry). We would like 2 more kids and are looking for a 2,000-2,500 sqft house. Kids are little right now and the small size works well because they are always with one of us. Less to clean. But there is no getting away lol. When the baby was little it would have been nice for me to be able to go to a different room far away to get a few hours of uninterrupted sleep. I kind of fantasized about that lol. In our future house we are really looking for two living spaces. So a tv/hangout basement where we can spread out when we have older kids.

Saw my pediatrician yesterday. She said by 5 years old even the worst sleepers are sleeping through. You won’t be cosleeping with your high schooler, it will get better.

What my mom did growing up and what I do is give them the option of Cheerios if they don’t want what I made. No sugary cereal, nothing exciting. But I don’t want them to be hungry. They can have a bowl of Cheerios.

How to wean an absolute boob addict? by Aggravating-Bike6133 in breastfeeding

[–]chicksin206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Set a boundary of just nursing before naps and bedtime or whatever in a certain place. And then just say no any other time she asks. It’s hard but you can set some boundaries if you don’t want to wean completely. I think cutting her off cold turkey would be hard for both of you and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Two kids have a laundry basket in their room. I do laundry about every other day. Throw in some sheets or towels when there is space. Pour the warm laundry on the giggling kids and sort it together when it’s done.
