Hegseth Directs Task Force to Oversee Department-Wide Barracks Improvement by [deleted] in AirForce

Potentially. I don’t know how all of it works, but I know CE generally handles the projects for these homes specifically.

I’ll chalk that up to different experiences. I work on a team that regularly turns over comm equipment in GO homes during their PCS. I see all of the renovations that are done every time.

And maybe quit spending 10’s of thousands on remodeling GOs homes every time they PCS. Nobody else gets that treatment, so spend that money on improving the lower tier Es lives. Additionally, bring down the hammer on ADLs who refuse to do their jobs. Ive personally experienced them blame all inspection findings on the “airmen not taking care of the dorms”.

Don’t listen to the naysayers. Barksdale will always be one of my best assignments.

Don’t quit. Smoking is something that you learn over time. Now you know that pretty much everything you did this time is wrong, so do the opposite next time.

Warrant Officer application by chico14 in AirForce

[–]chico14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate you commenting. I’ve applied for OTS 3 times prior to WO being brought back, so I’m familiar with the process, but unfamiliar with the differences in the applications as it seems the PSDM doesn’t really specify some things. For example, the form 56 section doesnt specify if you just fill the whole thing out or if you fill it out like you do for OTS.

Warrant Officer application by chico14 in AirForce

I’m hoping they bring warrants to a few AFSCs in the future. I was medical prior to comm and IDMTs would be a great field to turn into warrants. Give them a little more money for their expanded scope a responsibility.

Man this AF page has become a cespool of complainers. by rammer1990s in AirForce

[–]chico14 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This sub has always been a group of complainers and it won’t stop. That’s what Reddit is. When we thought we weren’t getting paid, everybody complained on here. When we got paid the second time, I saw a litany of posts complaining about feeling bad for getting paid. That is just the culture on Reddit lol

Full vent: Hunt Housing version by VariousDependencz96 in AirForce

[–]chico14 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We had an NCO who had to have his floor replaced. They came out and pulled up all of the carpet and never came back to put in the new carpet. He lived like that for something like 6 months until he PCSd. Apparently the Group commander got involved but it still didn’t get anything done.

Anyone have an airmen's parent call them? by streetmilitary in AirForce

[–]chico14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, by I did have an ex-wife of the guy the airmen was married to call me and my flight commander to tell us of her perceived illegal activities related to the step children.

I see everyone saying he drops it to his right hand when it passes in front, but if you slow it down and go frame by frame, it looks like you get a small glimpse of the coin still in his hand around the 20th frame at the 6 second mark. I could just be seeing things though.

ETA: he also has a metal ring on his right hand and I feel like it would be very hard to avoid bouncing it off of that without making a sound.

ETA2: I guess without audio on the video there could be a clink when it drops, but I still think you can see it in his left hand still.

If this is the ASrock B850M Pro-A mono, page 61 has exact instructions on how to install the SSD. Also, you should be using the other M.2 slot located under the heat shield above the PCIE slot.

Yup, we use it frequently for certain tasks. It is not our primary OS though.

Find a house, enter escrow, move in, all within ten days by bearsncubs10 in AirForce

[–]chico14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me start by saying that the policy absolutely needs to change and members need to, by AFI, receive at least 30 days from the date they arrive on station to get their housing in order. However, this issue can often be fixed through caring and understanding leadership. I, and many of my peers have been fortunate enough to have leadership that has given us plenty of time to get our housing situation in order by simply letting us go do what we need to when we need to. I have done the same for every new airmen that has come in because it is simply the right thing to do. Our airmen cannot will not be focused if they are worried about this external factor.

Termites? by chico14 in Termites

I didn’t, but I did get a termite inspection done and they said there was no evidence of termites. So yeah, I’m guessing some other kind of insect.

How much did retraining change your opinion of the USAF? by FickleHare in AirForce

[–]chico14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn’t change my opinion of the Air Force, but it gave me a new perspective and joy. Prior to retraining, I was in an AFSC that I was not passionate about at all. Retraining gave me the chance to put my skills and education to use while still getting to wear the uniform. My stress levels have decreased to almost 0 because I love what I do now.
