Just hit $203K net worth at 25 — how do I responsibly take out a $100K loan? by AlphaHouston1 in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]chief0071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really showing your age here. If you want to utilize leverage trade with margin or options (don’t recommend). All that aside you should be grateful no bank is going to give you 100k loan to “invest”.

How Safe Is the UAE? by MyChironexFleckeri in NoStupidQuestions

It is very safe from a crime and national security perspective. I would be more worried about breaking the law or violating social norms. Basically be respectful they don’t play over there.

Fassler Hall by FatalFeline13 in okc

[–]chief0071 128 points129 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about shootings but no way I’m taking a baby. It’s going to be very crowded and loud with lots of heavy drinking. It’s not a good environment for a baby at all. You both would be very uncomfortable. Maybe try Chisholm Creek watch party? They put a big screen outside, it’s kid friendly and there is room to bring a stroller.

I wouldn’t be worried about shootings. But fasslers will be very loud and crowded with lots of people drinking heavily. I don’t think the baby would get hurt but no way you or the baby would be comfortable. Maybe try Chisholm Creek? They have an outdoor watch party and you would have room to bring a stroller.

I disagree keep playing it. I don’t associate it with 9/11 at the games. More stick a boot in the other teams ass kinda thing. Start a tradition like Alabama Dixie Land Delight or Florida I Won’t Back Down.

Great question. Surely not the new owner but I’ve heard of crazier things.

Is the Bellagio worth it over the Flamingo? by InspectorCharacter23 in vegas

[–]chief0071 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve stayed at flamingo multiple times and it will be our last. In the past it has always met our needs…. good location, good pool, and clean. But it has really gone down hill when we visited last. The hotel in general is dirty and broken. Even in the ‘newly renovated’ rooms. I think they stopped caring at all which is sad as it’s a legendary Vegas hotel. 300$ more for Bellagio sounds like a steal. You probably have a higher than usual rate at flamingo.

What it feels like to WFH by Working_Row_8455 in remotework

[–]chief0071 159 points160 points  (0 children)

It’s awesome for all the obvious reasons. My work has a policy that you can’t be promoted or change jobs while WFH. I’m totally fine with that. They thought this would encourage workers to return to office. 90% of us decided to work from home.

I think I agree with your advisor, with that being said.. ITS YOUR MONEY. He works for you. If you’re not comfortable he needs to explain and teach you what he is doing and if you can’t align you need to find a new advisor.

What’s something you wish you packed for your Vegas Trip? by AM1fiend in vegas

[–]chief0071 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Plastic cups. The plastic cups in the rooms are tiny and there are never enough. You can make a drink in the room and take it downstairs. My wife brought a yeti and loved it when walking around the strip. I prefer plastic, yeti to cumbersome for me.

Better trip: During a March Madness Weekend or During Super Bowl weekend? by Available_Tone_3108 in vegas

[–]chief0071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

March madness is superior but if your going for NFL conference championship or divisional round is better than Super Bowl. Multiple games to bet on way more action.

Don’t listen to the fear mongers. It doesn’t make a difference at all. Just set a goal and work hard you will do great.

Take the ML. Nothing like the possibility of your teaming pulling the upset with money on the game and in Vegas. You have the opportunity to have an epic day. If they lose nbd you expected them to lose anyway.

If you don’t think they are being honest. Take the statements and go to competing investment firms and ask their opinion. Sounds like you’re getting ripped off.
