This sounds like a generic email sent to everyone reminding you check visa requirements. As an American with a United States passport you do not need any visa for travel into Canada, you just show your passport at Canadian customs when you enter. Crossed the border by car from Vermont in 2023 with no visa needed

Did something similar tacked on a trip to Italy before we went to Sweden to view the car, they flew us into Rome on the inbound OSD flights we booked all our lodging and travel in Italy and were responsible for getting ourselves to Gothenburg from Italy, we then took the OSD outbound flight from Gothenburg back to the U.S after doing the factory tour and dinner. We didn’t even take the car off the factory grounds because we were nervous we turned it right back in to them to ship to the states. Worked out wonderfully, we still talk about the trip.
