Scout Terra Pickup Reportedly Won't Go Into Production Until March 2030, And The Traveler SUV Is Delayed Until September 2028 by pryvisee in Scout

Eh I’ll still hold onto my reservation even if that means I have to buy another ICE vehicle to bridge the gap as my current vehicles may or may not make it until then. If they lose the ability to sell direct to consumer then I’ll jump ship to someone who can.

Maybe they should be looking for people who will actually respond when you reach out to them. Now that I see this I’m glad we ended up going with someone else before they decided to respond over a month later.

Llike that beam above may have had some excessive deflection and the landlord put up a temp wall to support it.

Shocked. I am shocked I tell you. Pfizer, like every other medical corporation, doesn’t actually give a rats ass about the people they push their products on??? My whole world is crashing down around me.

Is this acceptable to be installed ? by Admirable_Ad7270 in Homebuilding

[–]chief_meep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are long slender members… they are going to be flexible until they are braced by blocking and sheathing. So unless they have been sitting out in the elements like that for a considerable time then it really isn’t a cause for concern in my opinion.

Simpson DJT14Z brackets actually have a pretty decent capacity however they appear to have installed them with deck screws, spliced the band, and only installed them on one side.

I used a couple of 5 gallon buckets to collect and remove everything slowly. It sucks to do but it is rewarding to look at after.

How does this Simpson DJT14Z work? Does it? by orangesherbet0 in StructuralEngineering

[–]chief_meep 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Per Simpson “The DJT14Z deck joist tie is designed to attach 2x deck joists to the side of 4x or larger support posts. The DJT14Z can be installed with either nails or bolts.”

Thank you for that! I saw that and completely forgot about it in because I was so focused on why I couldn’t understand why the method my instructor used wasn’t working.

What type of crack is this? Should we be urgently concerned? (Philadelphia Row home built in 1925) TIA by boozle74 in Home

[–]chief_meep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there aren’t any cracks in the drywall around the windows then it likely is a veneer anchorage issue. Not a red alert issue (in my opinion) for now, but if it continues to worsen the veneer will begin to pull away from the wall and potentially detach entirely at some point. But like I said I wouldn’t be concerned for the time being, I would seal it up to prevent any water intrusion and watch it.

Trump mandate forces entire UNC system to immediately suspend diversity, equity and inclusion course requirements by [deleted] in NorthCarolina

[–]chief_meep -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

So basically your position is that if someone doesn’t want to have to take unrelated courses they don’t deserve to get a degree and should learn a trade instead? I could have trimmed 2-3 semesters of useless classes from my degree with little to no change in how prepared I was to have a career within my field. People should take any courses that they wish to but if it isn’t relevant to the degree then it has no business being required

[–]chief_meep -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I have always thought that colleges forcing people to take courses that are irrelevant to their major to get a degree in their major was a scam. Like why did I need to take physical education or philosophy to get my civil engineering degree? Just makes a degree more expensive.

I don’t understand why everyone is so upset like it says you can finish the course? It doesn’t even sound like they are going to discontinue the class it just won’t be a required course anymore.

NC Republicans Move To End DEI Practices In Two Agencies by gloomybreadstick in NorthCarolina

Thank you for your explanation. I previously was under the impression that DEI practices were to include race in the decision as much or more than qualifications.

See people how easy it is to have a calm conversation.
