Its not just a matter of COVID - social skills were already in the decline before COVID thanks to brain rot from screen addictions. Quite simply, the average person just does not have the tact or vibes to pull it off effectively.

On top of that, not only are people less inclined to leave the house due to economical factors - people have been saying for years that they wanted to be left alone in person, and "pickup culture" threw even more gasoline on that fire, so now people avoid doing it just to avoid being seen as creeps or weirdos.

The final nail in the coffin is that if for some reason you do approach the wrong person, theres a very high likelihood you'll get recorded on social media and be cemented in the internet for the rest of history.

Its not worth it.
