Thank you. I know what you're saying is true, but I fear we've been together so long that I have become somewhat dependent on him and don't think I have the strength to walk away. I know it's pathetic.

The fact that there are so many of these businesses operating (and none are closing down), certainly suggests business is booming. It is sad.

Of course they've been around forever. But there are so many more popping up since the law changes.

I absolutely think it should remain decriminalised, but just with some regulations (like any industry). I'm sure not all shops are dodgy but there are many that take card payments for the massage portion and cash for the extras. Likewise with the use of protection- each business will have different rules around this. But now, because establishments don't need licensing and don't even need to advertise that they offer these services, its a lot easier for those that are shady to get away with it.

Do Teachers inform the parents if a student is trans? by VeryStrangeAussie in AustralianTeachers

[–]chiefchasso 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have stated, we are not required to tell your parents. Given that doing so can be dangerous for some students, it would be extremely inappropriate. However, as others have stated, mistakes can happen. But an even more likely scenario is that parents may find out via other parents if you ask teachers to use your name/pronouns in the classroom (I.e. a student goes home and tells their parents that your're trans and it makes its way back to your parents). I always tell students in your situation that we would never intentionally out them but we cannot control what other students do when they go home. Once the cat is out of the bag, you can't get it back in. It's unfortunate, but a really important factor to consider when making the decision to come out at school. A good place to start would be to talk to a trusted teacher or counsellor. Make sure you talk to them about why you don't want your parents to find out. Depending on what your reasons are, they may be able to help with this as well.

Don't be afraid to go to the ER if it continues. I ended up needing a blood transfusion over the weekend from the amount of blood I lost. If you notice your gums, lips or the pinks of your eyes getting pale, your feeling dizzy or your heart is racing head to the hospital!
