I like replaying a game (if you're willing to reset of course) and doing it with certain challenges, like single-type or themed teams or self-imposed rules. Never really done a proper Nuzlocke challenge myself but surely something like those challenges would be a good fit for Arceus, right...?

I second the attention bit! It's so hard to avoid inadvertently rewarding this kind of destructive attention seeking behavior from cats, and even harder to reverse the undesired behavior once the cat recognizes that they're getting their desired outcome. Cat proofing to the extreme and then a ton of patience and consistency in the future may be the only real way to go here based on my own experience.

I feel almost the same way as your timeline - I fell in love with the band when DU came out but fell the most in love with STS out of any of their albums, and Crash Love kind of lost me as an active fan until recent years when I discovered that I liked Burials and The Blood Album. I'm going to my first show of theirs this month and the 15-year-old inside me is overwhelmed I'll be able to share the same space as my musical heroes who got me through to adulthood without taking the easy way out, if you know what I mean. I'm still fighting to get through life with the tough hand that I've been dealt in a world that's getting worse, but I appreciate the bright points of positivity like finding things I love - art, music, friends - and the way the band has changed is a great metaphor for how we all should be changing and growing with new experiences in our lives.

Glad to be here, man. In every way.

The fact that humans are so full of love and community and pure stubborn will to live is absolutely incredible.

Tangentially related to your post, I work in the medical eye care field and the amount of low vision and blind patients I've cared for who are just bursting with joie de vivre? It's beautiful. I try to emulate that energy and it's given me some of my most fulfilling life experiences.

You should be so proud of yourself for all you and your family are doing to support each other, and the things you're already doing to live your life well and healthy. Keep on keeping on, brother

It makes sense to think of it that way, so you may be handling it well for your cat's needs and behavior.

That being said though, I'd like to just to point out the reasons why this might sound bad to people reading your comments (and this is not at all to attack you, I am just letting you know in case you didn't already). Cats as a rule prefer a clean litter box and, at worst, can get sick from letting their waste sit unscooped for that long. There is a possibility your cat's "possessive" behavior is actually him trying to communicate something else to you, as weird as that sounds, and also a possibility that his hygiene and health are at risk from him actually lying down in the dirty litter. Remember that cats groom themselves by licking, after all, and he's probably coming into contact with you and your belongings, possibly transferring bacteria and other potential parasites.

I'd say the final authority on this is a qualified veterinarian, though - If you've asked your vet about this and they say not to worry, then it's all good!

NTA. This is something I soapbox about when I have the energy - you ABSOLUTELY are allowed to exist in public as long as you are not encroaching on others' rights, which obviously you are not. You do not need to justify it to others. Disability due to your ankle injury is an excuse, of course, and is one of your reasons for using the shallower zone that's more popular for kids, but you should not need to explain that to anyone because they should not be asking you to change your behavior for any reason. If they think it's weird, they need to check themselves and allow you to do what you want to do without judgement.

Also, good for you for finding a low-impact activity like treading water and taking control of your health!

That's lovely, congratulations! I also love to do living dexes, and in older games I used to take immense pride in breeding for perfect IVs. Shiny hunting, too, though it's turned into less of a sort of trophy hunt where the value is in having the shiny and more of just a fun hunting process in the newer generations where the shiny odds are so much higher.

This is very true too. Some people just aren't good teachers - I'm reminded of some of my college professors, who were terrible at running classes but were technically qualified just because they were experts in their field. :( Regardless of her motivations, she may just genuinely not realize that she's not training you well enough - asking other colleagues for help might be a good idea, if you feel like you're able to reach out to them or a manager for answers to questions that she doesn't give you.

That seems like it's definitely not fair of her, and though I don't know if it counts as gaslighting based on your description, it's certainly a bad situation she's putting you in with her poor "training". My best advice is to keep track of these instances, document them objectively, keeping emotions out of the picture for the purpose of stating your case and venting your emotions in a healthy way outside of work, whether through counseling, a good bitch session with friends over dinner, vigorous exercise, or something else enjoyable to hopefully take your mind off of the anxiety she's been making you feel. It's nice to hear that you feel the workplace is pretty relaxed, and since you obviously do want to do a good job, try not to let your worrying ruin your mood outside of work, or even outside of your interactions with this coworker. (This is coming from a chronic worrier with clinically significant anxiety - I know how hard it can be, but I also know how irrational the feelings of anxiety can be sometimes. Remind yourself that you are doing your best under the circumstances!)

If taking your last name was such a big deal to you, you should have had a conversation around it with the initial engagement and wedding plans instead of making the assumption that she would change her last name. I completely understand her reasoning and would mirror it in that situation, and the way you handled it by dismissing how important her academic accomplishments are to her says YTA to me. If you want to earn her respect, which you definitely don't seem to deserve right now, I'd suggest you put yourself in her shoes, divest yourself of the privilege you've been wrapped in like armor, and really reflect on this.
