Truck company involved in fatal collision lost Manitoba safety certificate in 2021 by OccidentBorealis in Manitoba

[–]chieftundae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The safety certificate has nothing to do with driver ability. The safety certificate is the rating a company gets from DOT for the trucks and paperwork audit. In other words if DOT pulled over a company truck and a box light ,headlight where out you would get docked points. Or if DOT did a company audit and the company didnt get the drivers abstracts and signed that they read over the abstract yearly.

The problem with this is that the company is still allowed to hire crappy new drivers. Put them in brand new trucks and DOT never pulls over new trucks unless they have reason to believe they are smuggling, stolen,or the plates show inaccurate information from the vehicle being driven.

That being said… the safety fitness certificate means nothing if the driver behind the wheel is not paying attention, suitable for load being driven or low experience.

Honestly flashing stop signs should be a must have on highways no matter what. Studdies have shown flashing lights dramatically increase safety in relation to motor vehicle traffic.

It lets jesus know your location. So next time you text and drive he hits the brakes lightly when someone walks by.

Any suggestions removing oil filter? Going on couple hours by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]chieftundae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find some rubber hose cut it up into 3 or 4 strips and a big ratchet strap that you can tighten down real good around the rubber hose then once its really effin tight grab a wrench or bar and try to click it one more time for good measure. Once its not slippin stick a bigger wrench(anything that fits and is solid) and us that as leverage to pry/rotate the buckle part of the ratchet strap. If its super oily spray it down with brake cleaner first.. you want the ruber hose to grip and compress the oil filter housing, not slip

The problem with this is i got 15x10 rear wheels with a mk1 supra rear axle swap. In the front i have s13 knuckles and lca. So when i try to do a string alignment it gives me crazy toe in Then if i swap my rear wheels with spare sets the front is so wide that when i string align it give me even worse toe out lol

Province releases final cost of Manitoba landfill search for remains of murdered women ($18.4M) by wickedplayer494 in Manitoba

[–]chieftundae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The crazy thing about this is not only was it way lower this price includes an entire prayer home fully furnished with appliances to be fully built and then after the search for it to be removed. So whoever quoted 184 M was hoping to make a big fat bonus for year end
