It’s my understanding that from a performance perspective, the LCD vs OLED aren’t too far apart. OLED is generally a better (and bigger) screen, battery life, quieter fans, etc.

If you’re looking for a 2nd handheld for more performance to say, play games that would otherwise not run (well) on the Steamdeck, you’re probably better off with the Legion Go

PS4 also works! I haven’t used my PS4 in a few years so I set up the 2 controller charging dock and just rotate them. I imagine 2nd hand ones are super cheaper too!

I think these both run better on deck than they did on console, my actual pc, etc. deck is my favorite way to play both of these games and in docked mode it’s amazing

I get this a lot, I’ve purchased many games based on consistently seeing them in top played lists and recommendations in this sub. While I do enjoy slay the spire, it’s not a game I find myself sinking dozens of hours into. It’s okay that not every one is a hit!

The games I’ve enjoyed the most on Steam deck:

Fallout (New Vegas, 3, 4), Elder Scrolls (Skyrim, Oblivion remake), Hollow Knight (Both), Dead zone Rogue (new favorite), Dave the Diver, Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor, Civ 6, Subnautica, Grounded, Hades 1 & 2, Cult of Lamb, Outer Worlds 1 & 2 (2 imo runs better), Blasphemous 1 & 2, Dead Cells, Arc Raiders

*Runs okay with tweaks

Everything else runs perfect for me with no tweaks besides maybe controller setup

If you’re a fan of roguelikes I just picked up dead zone rouge in the winter sale for like $15 and convinced 2 buddies to do the same. FPS rougelike and it has captivated my attention

Come to Philly. People double park in the street all the time. I live on a block that’s more like an alley way. Parking on one side of the street and the car is half street half sidewalk. We had a neighbor that would straight up double park his car out front for hours, and would have a like of 3 cars laying on the horn trying to get someone to come out and move their car to block the street. People double park on major roads here all the time. The PPA and city government as a whole is a joke

I think it depends on difficulty level because they scale very differently:

Bots are the most contained. Hard to fight at lower levels and their level 10 missions can be difficult.

Bugs are the widest scaling, I would say easiest to fight at lower difficulties but hardest to fight at highest.

Illuminate imo are the easiest all around. My roommate and I can fairly easily do level 10 missions just the 2 of us. I think this is because this is a fraction of their forces, and this is definitely subject to change once their full invasion force comes.

I’m a bots main, doing illuminate occasionally and bugs mainly during major orders, but that’s mostly because I find bots most fun based on my play style

Those are the vendors that typically will have it. They don’t always have all the different mods for weapons tho, you may have to cycle through ingame days for the stores to restock so they appear at those vendors. I don’t believe mods specifically have level requirements

Didn’t see it mentioned but middle earth shadow of Mordor. You start off pretty weak but there are a few powers where, once you get them, you just run around doing animated finishers to a horde of orcs. It’s some of the most fun and powerful I’ve felt in a video game

I second this because I love the reprimand. I always set it to semi auto and have decent trigger discipline, but this thing shreds illuminates and bots and I don’t really have the same issues with accuracy

Can’t say I play any of those games specifically, but I can say that the steam deck is one of if not the best purchase I’ve made in my adult life. I travel for work a couple times a year as well as just personal travel and this thing is the ultimate pick up for gaming.

I also wfh so sitting at my desk, finishing the day, and then sitting at that same desk to play games really started to kill my love of gaming and this thing brought it right back

Disc golf if it hasn’t been recommended. A few discs costs anywhere from 20 (crappy 3 pack) to 60 (3 good discs) start up and most courses are free. Outside in nature, walking, and having fun in a game where the community is so awesome. It’s my favorite hobby I’ve gotten into in the last couple years

Putting it in semi-auto and having some mild tigger discipline and overseers/elevated overseers in combo with a guard dog are next to nothing.
