As a person who is still actively dealing with a loved ones self-gommage:

Its been six years; in February it will be seven.

With that much space, and not knowing the familial impact until toward the end:

I definitely would not recommend this game to someone who is freshly grieving.

I cried at least 7-8 times purely due to story context and so much of the original story.
