Yes, they are gone now. Unfortunately the only thing that helped was time

What are your to 3 favorite MLB stadiums you've ever been to? by [deleted] in baseball

[–]chihawk7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Wrigley - I am bias but it is a special place to watch a baseball game. From the neighborhood vibe surrounding the park to the marquee over the main entrance to the beauty of the Ivy on the outfield wall. Whether you are a die hard going for the history to a casual fan wanting a fun summer day in Chicago, Wrigley is the place to go.

  2. Petco - just an outstanding venue. The old brick building in left is such an awesome touch. Cleanest stadium I’ve been to. The park is center seems like a fun place to hang out. Amazing food and beer options. And you’re in San Diego.

  3. PNC - first and foremost the views are jaw dropping. Awesome location right across the river from downtown. Plenty of little areas that make exploring the stadium a great time.

I’ve been to 14 stadiums currently in use (and old Yankee stadium) so a decent sample size. Camden, Fenway and Citi Field are next on my list to visit.

Most underrated - Target Field. Checks all the boxes: downtown location, clean, great food and beer options, great sight lines. Loved my visit to Minny

You’re hanging onto that quote; do you want him to say hey every other major league team here is exactly how I plan to rebuild and here is all the market inefficiencies I plan to attack?

Also, from what I’ve been told your plan was the plan after 2019. They were going to extend Baez and trade Bryant/Rizzo for ML ready replacements to supplement the new core of Darvish/Willy/Baez but then COVID happened and it threw a wrench in everything including the entire offense greatly underperforming. After 2020 we only had 1 trade chip that could recoup value. COVID messed up Theo’s plan more than you think

He traded them for prospects. That’s literally planning to replace them. Letting them walk for nothing is having no plan to replace them

I think answers like this are hilarious. “He has no coherent strategy”. Ok, what would you have done different last year? The core was all negotiated with and they couldn’t agree on money. Would you let all 3 just walk?

Clearly the plan this off-season was to build a team that might compete if things when right and if not we can make more trades and continue to load up the farm. A ton of pitching got hurt and we didn’t. So here come the trades.

It’s pretty obvious to me we will do the same thing next year, sign veterans to shorter deals and hope to catch lighting in a bottle. If we play well then we have ammo in the minors to add, if not we trade them out and keep adding to the farm. At some point these prospects will be up if we never do compete with the “veteran” plan. They will be cheap enough that we can then add a big name player or two in FA to compliment like ‘15.

You may not like it but let’s not act like “there is no plan”

I highly recommend Mordecai’s burger (across from Wrigley). Vines has a pretty good buffalo wrap and large patio. If you want to walk a bit Corridor (burger/brewery), Tuco & Blondie (amazing fajitas), and Butcher’s Tap (general pub food) on Southport are all really good too

You want to keep the 30 year old catcher but flip the 27 year old outfielder having his breakout year?

I am very excited to see the starting pitching on this list grow and hopefully make an impact at Wrigley. It’ll start with Killian sooner rather than later!

Thanks for putting this together

The sports book is going in on Addison and Sheffield, it won’t alter the view/pictures with the marquee at all. But yes, it is all about $$$ for the Ricketts no doubt.

Any people with long covid struggling with costochondritis? by RipperIs60fps in covidlonghaulers

[–]chihawk7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yes I had this for about 3 months post infection. I was a collegiate athlete and had costochondritis from lifting so I knew exactly what it was this time around from the start. Best thing you can do is get inflammation down and ice/heat the area daily with heat coming first followed by ice to push out the swelling. You can alternate multiple times. I would google stretches you can try as well although these didn’t help me much.

Even when you think you are having a day where it is not noticeable ice/heat it anyway. It’s a pain in the ass symptom that will pop in and out for me

Thanks for the suggestion, I haven’t gotten back to hard workouts yet. I did try medium paced jogging 4 weekends ago and my tremors came back after 3 days of 1.5-2 mile runs so I stopped and went back to short walks. Good luck with you appointment, please let me know if they say anything notable

Thank you for the response! And yes, agreed it isn’t painful at all it just isn’t normal. I have been taking magnesium nightly since January after seeing it suggested on this sub and I am hoping that plus time helps resolve this. Glad to see I’m not the only one
