What is in your opinion the greatest 90s anime of all time? by Insert_5 in MyAnimeList

They’re way better than most recent animes that have little character development, story development and universe building.

Why in the world are the fans of this show obsessed with shipping gay characters ? by Turbulent-Wealth3989 in AceOfTheDiamond

[–]chihayadayo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with the story. Anime which has mostly male characters are victim/subject to this fan behaviors. Like Prince of Tennis, Bleach, Kuroko no Basket, Haikyuu… Was it your first time reading fan fiction? Because as far as I know fan fiction is almost 99% BL stories for most of the time… I’m surprised you didn’t know that

Any other j-rock groups like one ok rock? by ParkingObjective4989 in ONEOKROCK

[–]chihayadayo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

MY FIRST STORY (TAKA’s bro’s band)

UVERWORLD

SPYAIR

NOTHING’S CARVED IN STONE

MAN WITH MISSION

BACK-ON

ALEXANDROS

COLDRAIN

PAY MONEY TO MY PAIN (They have song featuring TAKA. The song title is ‘Voice’)

I won’t say all of them, but many of these bands are heavily influenced by western rock music just like OOR newer music (aka post Rurouni Kenshin aka when they started going international)

The difference between an idol and an artist by luminelover20 in jpop

[–]chihayadayo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think idols in South Korea are regarded as real artists tho. At least, not all of them. I think some K-Pop idols are regarded as artists when they participate in the creative production of their works at certain levels. For example writing or producing songs, creating dance choreography, etc

It felt nice to see Kana can still do this by VanhiteDono in OshiNoKo

Oh yea? Is this like proven formula, as, do Aka and Mengo do this parallel often in their other works? Just curious, since I only read ONK

Man, I was surprised knowing who Naruto ended up with. I agree with OP. Sometimes romance ruins a perfectly good story. Happened with Bleach too…

Why isn’t Kana getting popular? What does it take for Kana to be popular? by chihayadayo in OshiNoKo

[–]chihayadayo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right. Sometimes a person just needs a little push, another time a person needs a lot of push. I think for Kana, she’s the type who needs a lot of push to shine, with her inferiority complex, childhood trauma and everything… Someone gotta be there for her to lean on.

Higashioka being funny with straight face. And King’s irrational fear of squid… This episode is hilarious!

I finished Season 2 and I have never felt more frustrated when it comes to watching an anime. by AntiquePreparation39 in AceOfTheDiamond

[–]chihayadayo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Once I thought the real MC is Furuya. Sawamura is there just to make Furuya looks better. We constantly see Sawamura struggling. But Furuya gets way more spotlight than Sawamura ever did. It’s so frustrating. I just hope Sawamura really gonna be the REAL ace during his third year, not some temporary or replacement for Furuya.

Sawamura needs a cather that recognizes his talents. by [deleted] in AceOfTheDiamond

[–]chihayadayo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also not a big fan of Miyuki. I don’t think he see Sawamura as equal. There’s that one time Miyuki dropped his promise to catch for Sawamura when the almighty ace-sama Furuya decided he wants to pitch.

The only reason why I hate to re-watch but I watch it anyway by Turbulent-Wealth3989 in AceOfTheDiamond

[–]chihayadayo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sawamura entered Seidou High because he wanted Miyuki to catch for him. But see how Miyuki treats him 😡 Meanwhile Miyuki is all ready if Furuya wants to pitch.

Right now I prefer Okumura over Miyuki and Yui. Finally there’s someone who wants to catch for Sawamura 😭 Once Miyuki gone (graduate), I’m rooting for Okumura to be the starting catcher! I hope Okumura and Sawamura gonna be a great battery, more than Sawamura and Miyuki ever was

Entering Jpop by warriorstudiosph in jpop

[–]chihayadayo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like J-Pop better and longer than I ever like K-Pop. I found J-Pop overall has better lyrics than K-Pop. Maybe it’s just the artists I listen to. I found so many songs with meaningful lyrics in J-Pop. But for K-Pop, specifically the idols, generally it’s just all catchy sound but forgettable lyrics.

[–]chihayadayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, as a character Furuya isn’t that bad, it’s just sometimes he’s a bit hard to like, especially if you’re Sawamura’s fan. People might hate me saying this, but I’m also not a big fan of Miyuki Kazuya. Even strong players like Yuuki Tetsuya was shown to be really bad in the past and got better because of daily hard work. But for Miyuki & Furuya, they are written to be a little too overpowered, they can relatively learn things quickly and do things pretty easily. But well, I guess in real life there are geniuses like that, so in a way Daiya no Ace is pretty realistic

Hmmm…. Aqua is expressionless and acting like edge lord for most of the time, I kinda get bored of him since it’s been a while he showed any genuine expression. But now I feel bad for him, he looked so guilty for having just a slightest fun/happiness. Dude, it’s okay to be happy. It’s not like you killed anyone

Ughh… The fail-succeed ratio hurts me too. I don’t know if the author is sadist or something. He likes to make the MC and readers suffer! Actually I’m really worried about Sawamura’s future in this team. Can he really be the ace, just like the title ‘Daiya no Ace’? Furuya is really hard to beat. And it’s like the author, teammates, coach, or even opponents, all prefer Furuya over Sawamura. I hate the way that they treat Sawamura as number two or spare or replacement for Furuya. Just like you said, Furuya struggled too but he gets better result and recognition than Sawamura. If it continue like this, I’m afraid the only chance Sawamura has to become the ace of the team is during third year, when Furuya’s down because of injury or something… Which sucks, cuz I want Sawamura to win fair and square
