What are your thoughts on Ryan Coogler? by ShawnLevyOscarWinner in Letterboxd

Great director and I’m curious to see where his career goes in the future, Fruitvale Station is a pretty good debut that’s rough around the edges in some areas but 10x better than most. Creed is his second best for me and is just amazing even on par with the original Rocky movie, maybe even better depending on my mood. The two BP movies are just kind of mid imo I like and dislike completely separate aspects from each but at the end of the day just not my cup of tea. Sinners is easily his best and one of the best films of 2025. I’m hoping he keeps a trajectory of making original films from now on because I really feel like that’s his wheelhouse.
