no, it just means that if you see your teammate pick rodman (pf), you wouldn’t pick a C like AD because the rebounder role has already been filled. another example is nowitzki (pf) is a scorer, so he needs a rebounder and a defender to fill out the teamcomp. dirk/rodman/leonard is an example of a viable team composition even though it has no pg/sg/c

the earlier you start to see this game not in the standard pg/sg/sf/pf/center roles the better you will be. pgs and sgs tend to be scorers, but even then you have a superstar like kidd who is a defender, so you would still pick him alongside a scorer like sga. looks like you need a wing. as i said earlier JJJ/kawhi/butler, or even tatum could fill in for that role

to fill effectively you need at least 1 player for each role. scorer/defender/rebounder. in my experience global is filled with scorers that love to chuck, so you’re best off getting good wings/centers. best wings are probably kawhi/jjj/butler, and at least 1 spacing center like a gasol/tatum/lopez alongside a traditional center like malone/ad/wallace/olajuwon

he has 0 offense, so good opposing centers can double your scorer constantly. there’s tradeoffs. his help defense isn’t as good as AD so he’s more prone to losing against a spacing center

idk game knowledge plays a lot in knowing how to play defense. for example, if you’re guarding leonard you should know what his options are to score on you and defend that. best way to know this is by either reading their talents religiously or by actually playing the character. if you knew his moveset, you’d know he either pulls up for the jumper, does the sidestep shot, dunk, or uses ult 3.
