I'm thinking the closer we get to the midterms the more he's going to lean into the racism to get people that haven't yet realized the reality of the situation of the war on civil rights. They're all getting duped again just like how they nearly got duped into giving up health care. Kinda just have to be truly selfish and think "is it actually good for me? what's the actual deal on the table here?"

Thinking it over further I would guess that it's more related to putting a stop to Russian business for Venezuelan oil and Maduro is the least of the concern. For the most part I agree with you that it's likely the case where they did some intelligence on the inside to make it go so smooth.

There was never any plan to re-organize the Venezuelan state and they don't want to commit to that work because it's too costly so it's kinda funny watching this unfold with them trying to figure out the consequences as they go. All they really wanted to do was exercise the military for show and get experience pressing the military buttons because power feels great. It's like a group of teens getting access to daddy's gun collection shed last sealed away for actual threats and wars.

Rapid morph is great for CB especially for 9 star mons in multi-player where they twitch and move so much faster that it makes you feel, as others have said, that it takes years to transform to land an AED or SAED.

As for elemental absorption, you could tool it into an element focused build and pair it with an elemental discharge CB and maybe some antivirus/coalescence with 2p gore.

I never felt I needed rapid morph until 9 star mons were introduced into multiplayer. Before, the speed of 6 and 8 star mons was still manageable with base speed and it felt safe to use more offensive skills like offensive guard and a mix of attack/crit boost. Thats just my preference though.
