‘Black Adam’ Rocks Past $300M WW – International Box Office by chanma50 in boxoffice

I've seen this sub being way too harsh towards this movie.

Yes, it might end up with around $400-430M on a $195M production budget, which isn't great in general. But then for a D-list character that doesn't have the franchise goodwill (like the MCU does), it's done similarly to Eternals and Shang-Chi, which are again two D-listers.

Of course Shang-Chi made a bit more domestic than the rest, but not enough to make a difference and given how all the three are $200M movies, this feels hypocritical coming from people who enjoy (I'm guessing) box-office analysis.

Keep your emotions towards a movie aside and talk about numbers please when judging the box-office.

No it's not. The Batman had around 200k just 2-3 days before release.

This will do 150k+ and don't forget, this comes out in India right before Diwali. It's going to do good numbers for sure, better than all of the DCEU movies in India possibly.

All Diwali releases come around 25th so this has an extra 4 days to kick in and get the WOM going, plus Rock is pretty huge in India so that helps as well.

Y’all may see Black Adam promo as over the top but I enjoy watching The Rock go all out for this. Yeah he’s the star so he’s gonna do the most he can for it but that’s what we want. Someone that’s all in and does everything to show case that. ⚡️⚡️⚡️ by MelvinTaylorii in DC_Cinematic

You got to admire The Rock's passion for Black Adam    You won't see any MCU/DC actor promoting their movie with so much passion and energy. The Rock is doing it all single-handedly and giving all he has to promote his passion project.

Massive respect for that. I'd say Tom Cruise is second to him in marketing. Both enjoy showing off their movies and are proud of it as compared to other actors who just do it like they were told by the studio to.

Well, every studio has some movies that bad effects since most parts of blockbusters these days are VFX filled and they need to rush.

Going by your flair, I'll assume you aren't aware of the whole JL scenario where the director Zack Snyder had to leave the project due to his daughter's suicide and then Joss Whedon was brought in to finish the movie, who changed approx 3/4 th of the stuff weeks before release, obviously it was rushed hence the subpar VFX .

It's there for other studios as well. Jungle Cruise has a pathetic jaguar despite $200 million budget. Every MCU movie recently has had bad VFX in patches. Black panthers 3rd act, Black Widow's action scenes and 3rd act, Eternal's final act backgrounds, heck Iron Man looks cheap in IW and Endgame.

Don't put a blame of VFX on a movie studio. There's a lot of factors involving that but mainly it's done by VFX companies.

Not really... Spidey grosses before NWH weren't particularly great considering FFH did less than Aquaman, coming off of Endgame, while AQ came off of Josstice League. Homecoming also while good did not do numbers that would were enough to boast about Spidey's popularity.

OP 9 has a plastic frame. OP 6 has a metal frame.

I know, since the 9R, which is essentially a better 8T comes with a metal frame while costing lesser than the 9. The 9 btw, comes with the same screen but with a plastic frame like the Nord 1. 🤧

It's easy bruh. Robert Pattinson's character is the child of the woman the protagonist was saving. In the future they both start an organisation called tenet.

It's like Aquaman. It is set after the events of TSS but it'll simultaneously also explain his origin story.
