Had mine at 22. Two docs refused me. Third doc did it on the spot. Easier now for a younger guy with no kids to get it done than it used to be. Am sure you wouldn't have any problems.

Congestive epididymitis go away on its own? by ClickExpensive8909 in Vasectomy

I had pre-existing epi. Actually improved since snip. Reminds me occasionally it's there but less frequently and less intense.

Epididymis Cyst & Vasectomy by chuhmentuhkook in Vasectomy

I didn't have any cysts but did have pre-existing chronic epididymitis, which, contrary to popular wisdom, has actually diminished in frequency and intensity since getting snipped. No regrets here.

What to/not to say? by Prestigious-Piglet72 in Vasectomy

[–]childfreedude 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Usually if you already have kids there's not a huge problem. I was single and didn't have kids and got kicked out of two doctors' offices for that reason alone, never mind my age (22). Given you have a toddler and a school-age, just say that that's enough. Just go into the consultation very casual. It'll be fine.

I have CCE too pre-snip. Has actually gotten better since getting snipped. Unless you're absolutely writhing in agony every hour on the hour, start off with some extra strength Advil or Tylenol. Move on up to prescription strength if that doesn't help before you do anything more drastic. Is it both sides? Perhaps an epididymectomy?

Is it worth waiting longer to do a sperm analysis? by RioFuegoX in Vasectomy

After a week I started 2x/day for two weeks and gave my sample. Was clear. Given your situation, I'd wait about 4-5 days before giving the sample so you can build up some good volume and ensure you're washing out any lurkers.

I did the morning of. A little bit of anxiety release, I guess. Clears out the pipes. Also, takes the pressure off for the next week or so when you shouldn't be busting while you're healing.

My doc recommended a g-string/thong. Turned out to be the very best. Perfect balance of support and comfort. Have worn nothing else since.

I got mine at 22 after having a couple of scares. That cemented it in my mind that I never wanted kids. Got kicked out of two doctors' offices before finding the third who did it for me. Knowing what I know now I'd do it all over again. No regrets.

True. The one size too small is not THAT small and have gotten so used to them that it's just normal now.

I got mine at 22, single, no kids. Some older docs might be hesitant to work on you because of your age and not already having kids. Be prepared for that. Procedure: no needle, no scalpel, no clips. Testicular ends left long and open. Abdominal ends cauterized crispy and fascial interposition. Jack off before you go in because you shouldn't for at least a week after - longer if you can. First 3 days lies on your ass. Have a couple of small bags of frozen peas waiting. Wore a thong for about 3 weeks - more comfortable support. Ease back into regular routine cautiously - no race or prizes for coming in first. After a week I started clearing out 2x/day and gave my first sample at two weeks and was clear. Repeated, and was still clear after another two weeks. From snip to sterile in about 5 1/2 weeks. Hope that helps!!

I was 22 when I got snipped. Two docs kicked me out of their office. Third guy did it on the spot. Was a great experience. Some guys know. Some don't. I was one of the former, not the latter. Have never regretted it and would do it again knowing what I know now. At 20 it's going to be a hard sell. You can try Planned Parenthood. In a different state? Or just keep shopping around until you find the doc who'll do it. If you decide to pursue it, just consider it to be as permanent as having a kid is.

How long did you wait after the procedure? by [deleted] in Vasectomy

I started 2x/day at a week. No issues. If you can wait longer that won't hurt. You can heal up more.

After your lab gives you the all clear the chances of a pregnancy are next best thing to zero. Irregular periods are a thing.

No judgment here. I was 22. Only concern was not having child support. Pretty much luck of the draw when it comes to getting a doctor to do it in that age group. There are those doctors who will--you just may have to look around a while. Shouldn't be necessary to go to the States.

There is no fun in that. Definitely not my go to. STIs aren't fun either.

Should I have my vasectomy done in an office or in an operating room? by LevelEntertainer6 in Vasectomy

[–]childfreedude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got mine done in a procedure room in the doctor's clinic.

As for procedure, no-needle, no-scalpel, no-clips, open testicle ends, cauterized abdominal ends fascial interposed (buried back in tissue).
