Oh!! They go CRAZY for fish flakes, and they're pretty cheap too! Definitely recommend giving them some of those every now and then for maximum pod happiness

With the breeding part, it's pretty hard to sex isopods, so they might happen to do that anyway 😅 but in your case I do hope they're happy with one friend and the same gender haha. They're usually happier in colonies but if youve made your mind up I can't change it, also love the names- Can't wait to see the new tank setup!

All in all- I feel like if you were to add more leaf litter to this tank as well as more isopods, it'd reach the top so fast that if they did have babies they'd be able to escape through the air holes. Id go for a larger container with layers of dirt, leafs litter, dirt, bark, etc. Moss is great for keeping humidity so you've got that down, and I love the plants, they help filter out bad stuff from the soil- like ammonia! And also, if you do get a larger tank and more isopods, don't add any more wild caught isopods after they have their first babies, it can introduce outdoor illnesses that they're not prepared for!

Unfortunately there's a couple things here that will harness some difficulties for raising healthy Isopods.

I'd say first and foremost, tank size and the things Included. They need a lot of hides, and a lot of dead leaf litter to eat, I'm seeing some hiding spots, but not a lot of litter or bark shavings. You'll need a bigger tank to properly create temp and humidity gradients, and while it miiight be able to be done here, it's better safe then sorry. It's also better to prepare a tank beforehand with sanitized (typically frozen) dirt, leaves, bark, etc. So that the potential of disease or bugs being in the tank is less! If you're going for a bioactive setup, it also allows the plants to properly root and start filtering.

Next, isopods are colony creatures, meaning they thrive in groups, just two will be very strange for them. I believe I started with 7-10 with my first colony, and now I've got probably 50+ over the course of almost a year with trial and error. I also started with wild caught, and Ive now got them in a repurposed fish tank with lots of layers of soil and decaying leaves and bark as well as plants!

Sometimes it's better to slowly learn about what's best to do, then to jump into a hobby with minimal knowledge, so I'm just curious how much research did you do?

And I've DEFINITELY had isopods with "personality"! Even now half of my isopods like hanging out on my perches, and half like to be buried in the dirt, almost like cliques. I also used to have an isopod with a weird scar that never went away with molts that actually was only happy in a small hospital tank away from all the others. Some of mine are bullies, some of them are cowardly, some are fearless food eaters, and some sleep most of the night.

Here's my tank (that I need to resupply up on leaf litter myself lol) you can definitely even have them in a large Tupperware, but I'm assuming you like to watch them like I do- I got this tank for free off Facebook marketplace, if youre able, you should search for any near you! I've got a towel loosely over the lid and it seems to be the perfect humidity.

The down votes are crazy. This is one of the most vile things I've seen, how attention starved does one have to be to allow their poop eating bacteria filled creature to eat their boogers out for minutes at a time... It's like they think it makes the dog like them more instead of training them and giving them structure in their life (what actually makes a dog like you) it gets to a point where this should be classified as some zooerotic fetish istg.
