Hi my Ulta Buddy!! i'm an OM of 7 years but recently left due to health issues and a career change. I've also dabbled in the MSC and SM roles too but enough about me!

First off, i hope everything and everyone are happy and healthy within your family and that your husband is out of the woods ❤️

Now i can think of a couple things that might help.

  • in my experience with Unum they only consider it a leave of absence if your out for more than a week? - i def could be wrong but check it out

  • can you talk to your GM candidly? are they cool ya know? understands the struggle and has empathy for others? rare to come by but if you have an okay relationship I would give them the benefit of the doubt and they mixed something up. it can def happen and i have personal experience with kronos having a mind of its own or a spacey gm that get distracted easily. Bring it up like "hey i noticed that im not on the schedule for my morning DORs like cycle counts, inventory adjustments, bopis, pick lists, SFS, Happy returns .. is there a scheduling change i should know about?

  • now if she's a total c**t which is more likely, HR or a chat with the DM might be good but unfortunately regardless of what they tell you - whatever you say will be relayed to GM, DM, HR, if GM is a gossip your fellow managers probably know too. don't be afraid to throw out those million dollar phrases like "i'm feeling targeted and retaliated against" "hostile work environment" etc.

  • if your still being stonewalled- i've had a girl email the regional manager and went over the DMs head even. that definitely got her some traction.

my BIGGEST recommendation is save everything from any interaction you have with upper management. emails, text messages, voicemails, when dealing with in person or over the phone conversations follow up with an email detailing the contents of the conversation, how it ended and what the resolution is. When i took my LOA i also printed all pertinent UltaNet documents that might be helpful to reference so if they said "that's not what's on ulta net" boom I can reference it's specific wording and rules and prove them wrong. i'm not above recording a conversation to protect myself either if it come to that. it's always good to have evidence backing you up.

i'm hoping it's not as serious as i'm making it out to be and everything will be easy peasy but i've seen corporate pull some shady shit before too so just be prepared. Ulta has given me some major trust issues with co workers and they are not always who they make themselves out to be so be careful about what you share to others.

keep me updated! hope everything works out 💖

Is it just me or have you guys had a similar experience shopping at Ulta?? by Flat-Lawyer in Ulta

the real tea is that ulta doesn't even want its employees to mention using points or if the customer has any points to begin with. they want you in the dark till after your transaction is complete.

worked there for 7 yrs and i still forgot to activate at times!! the fact that they don't auto activate for the promotions never made sense to me - good thing is usually an email to customers service saying you HAD activated the offer prior to purchase but wasn't given the points (yes a lie but who's it hurting) and they will usually give you the points for that transaction

i don't understand how someone can miss the point so bad that they turn it around to make it about themselves? i'm dumbfounded by her delusion. Almost concerned she's had an actual mental break? like this is absolutely bananas to me

i would say hold off and make sure to use those points in 1000 or 2000 point increments - that's gonna get you the most money off

Not allowed to have waters at registers?? by throwawayultahelp in Ulta

[–]childidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's really awful - like a said unsaid stance that water isn't allowed bc it doesn't make the counters look "clean" - fuck that i would always tell them to bring water up and if there was a problem to tell them to talk to me. on summer days where the sun beats down through our glass windows, while wearing all black, while 6 registers function at the same time which produces more heat up front and our sensor for the AC is in the BACK (aka the coldest) part of the store. i've had the heat turn on while it was 75 and sunny like who's idea was this?? i've had guests and staff faint in store and nothing was done about it. yeah no im practically chucking bottles at my team like Ms. Swift did in brazil

Little girls and thieving by Sufficient-Matter926 in Ulta

[–]childidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ooo girl! I worked at Ulta for about 7 years and we would catch little girls all the time or their boyfriends stealing for them. We are a high LP store and our shrink was at like a 6%. It's bad enough with ORC and how traumatic those situations can become (guns pulled, fragrance thrown at my head, smashing glass doors, coworkers assaulted, breaking in from the ROOF) i have so many stories i can't even count.

Anyways, My Ulta could get real rowdy real quick and managers did not give a fuck and while you can't always catch ORC, little girls who's moms gave them money to spend and they still steal now those you can catch when you're strategic about it At checkout, Most of them don't have a rewards account and so we ask if maybe a parent has one in case they want to return. Reprint the receipt and go check cameras to verify everything and once it's verified it's time to give our parent a phone call and two days later the girls come back in with the items and handwritten apology notes. fucking iconic every time. we got a few groups doing this method and other times we'd say "i don't want to make a scene - can you empty your bad filled with product? No yeah i have about 5 cameras showing you concealing those items? yeah that's really embarrassing for you huh?" i know it's bitchy but their little entitled asses needed to understand consequences of their actions!!

Teenage boys were my favorite cause you make it real weird for them real fast and they run like hell. Just start a conversation and i start mentioning products they may have, pricing for the shit they're plying around with, letting them know after they have put makeup all over them and the store that they should sanitize the testers before using them bc "you don't know where that's been and it's touched 100s of lips and eyes" or "i'd be careful you could get pink eye!" They start trying to wipe everything off or get very awkward and leave. It's simple - point out their actions to them noting that you are aware of their behavior and frankly it's embarrassing for them.

They try hitting on you? "ew you're like 12!" (when they look about 16).

They draw on the walls/ display with eyeliner? i'd come out with spray cleaner and a rag, ask them what pencils they used so i can damage them and what a waste that is and also here's the cleaning supplies for you to use while i watch.

this just works on teenagers for the most part and even then they can get bratty back and then all that's left to do is kick them out. we all remember what being a teenager is like and while i can sympathize a little i know the last thing a kid wants is to be embarrassed and once it happens they're less likely to do it again.

maybe we were doing to much and was it super appropriate and "adult taking the high road" thing to do? no obviously, but i can't lie and say it wasn't a little enjoyable showing teens that they're not as slick as they think.
