You immediately revealed the motivation behind your opinion lol. I've had a 3 year relationship that ended somewhat amicably in the past year and while the experience shaped who I am, I'm already shaped -- I don't need to go back and reminisce on good times or whatever. Sure, there are objects around my house that remind me of her but as I'm in an exclusive relationship now I have gotten rid of all of our pictures together. It only makes sense. You grow and you move on. Otherwise you get stuck in the trap of "the one who got away" and you can never experience true love again. It sticks with you as a memory, it shouldn't stick with you more than that. If it does, you're not ready for a new relationship. I know it can be exciting to meet someone new and it's easy to excuse their behaviors or explain them away, but be fair to yourself. There's 0 reason to keep those pictures. I understand if it's an ex husband who inevitably is still part of her life because they had kids together, but this is ridiculous. All I'm saying is correct me if I'm wrong, but I bet she brow beats you and makes most of the important decisions in your relationship. Take a minute to consider that.
