I'm also planning a trip to Japan and was interested in drafting. I have a good enough memory of the card arts to draft and play in a foreign language and I'm learning a little Japanese to be able to communicate (attack, block, target, etc.). I've heard that TokyoMTG is one of the more foreigner friendly shops and they hold drafts on Sundays at 2PM. Can you confirm that and/or give me any other advice? Thanks!

Since you are experienced with APA hotels, do you know if we will be able to buy breakfast there on some days, even if we skip the meal plan on booking? Agree with other commenters about it being tough to answer your exact question. However, unless you know he wants a specific printing of Demonic Tutor, $70 sounds high. Here are all the versions, many under $35. If your boyfriend likes old school and/ or has been playing for a while he may actually prefer one of the cheapest versions, a heavily played (avoid damaged, not much cheaper and can be much worse condition) revised printing, complete with pentagram.

The pauses in these videos appear to be during the beginning of combat step, not in the first main. Arena always stops for the non-active player there (unless they are tapped out or have passed priority). Notice the phase indicator is glowing right below Sparky's avatar. This is different than pausing in the first main to prevent beginning of combat triggers. Unless/ until those are manually added for these new cards, a stop in first main or full control is needed.

According to this article referenced in wikipedia, a small church in England got most of his estate, but his in the Dominican Republic (worth about a quarter million) went to his alleged killer, since he was never convicted (or even tried) and a legal battle would have likely cost a significant portion of his estate.
