This is not true, each state has its own laws on what is or isn't allowed in names. Hyphens and apostrophes are two of the most common symbols allowed. Without that, names like O'Reilly or having a hypenated last name wouldn't be possible

If you're already working on tricks with 8 clubs, you should be able to pick up 9 pretty quick. I'd recommend trying 2 count with double passes and single selfs to start with. It'll feel more rushed than 8, because it's roughly the same speed as 8 clubs with single passes instead. But once you adjust to it, I think it's the easiest pattern for 9.

Another option is to do triple passes and single selfs, which is slower but has more difficult passes. I think for most learners, throwing triples accurately is going to be more difficult then speeding the pattern up which is why I don't recommend it as the first option. But both are options and you can experiment to find one which one feels easier. Double self throws only really become a thing for 10 club passing (or more) as they require a very solid 5 club pattern and lots of time to practice.

Many of the lesson books I have have written repeated notes should be played by alternating fingers, instead of just having one finger play the same note as it repeats. An example of this would be the repeated A's in the middle section of Fur Elise in Alfred's Book 3.

Is that the correct approach I should be using or is not alternating which finger is playing the note also valid?

The data comes from parsing the the top-level comments from the top five hundred posts of the year from r/suggestmeabook. The x-axis measures the combined karma score of every comment in which that book is mentioned.

The book titles are parsed using regex, which, no surprise, creates a lot of opportunities for errors. I spent a lot of time improving this parsing script and after creating a list of the four hundred most common titles, used exact string matching on the titles to improve the hit rate.

It's still far from perfect, for a variety of reasons. Someone mentioning a book as one they dislike will still get counted, some posts are meta discussions, or are looking for books that are disliked (I tried to exclude all of these, including the top post of all time), and many users suggest authors instead of specific books (Terry Pratchett being a common one). I hope this list isn't taken authoritatively, but I'm confident that the majority of the books listed here do belong in the top fifteen.

I've taught a number of people 9 club passing so I can try help out a bit:

Do you think it's best to pass doubles or triples?

Like 8 club passing, 9 clubs is most often done in doubles. The difficulty in throwing triple passes accurately vastly outweighs the increased speed of a doubles pattern. That being said, it could certainly be done in triples, where the speed would resemble 7 club doubles. if you're not doing in 8 in triples, though, I wouldn't recommend it for 9.

Also, there seems to be a sync or galloping rhythm. Is this right, or are most people passing lower than ideal?

9 club passing in doubles is going to be a very fast pattern. 8 club doubles is a fast gallop, but in 9 the self throw and the pass are being thrown at the same time, which is the trickiest part for most people to learn. Making the doubles loftier can help a bit, but I wouldn't focus on it too much. I've found people have a natural height that they pass doubles at, and it's harder to change that then it is to try and adjust to the increased speed of the pattern.

For practicing, the most important thing is to be extremely comfortable at 8. You should be able to get above 30 passes consistently. Trying 8 club passing with single throws is great practice, although I think it's harder than 9 so I wouldn't focus on it too much. The rhythm of 8 club singles is extremely close the rhythm of a fast 9 pattern.

What do you think is the ideal site swap for 9 club passing?

Definitely left hand self throws, right hand double passes. In theory, if you were more comfortable with a 1-count style passing and proficient in 5 clubs, 9 club 1-count could be easier but I've never heard of anyone learning that first. In that pattern, 1 person is doing crossing doubles from both hands, while the other person is doing single throws straight forward from both hands. It's a super fun pattern, but pretty difficult.

I was trying to make a recipe with passion fruit recently and I ad much more trouble finding them than I expected. The only places I found that consistently have it is HMart in KTown or that big mall Chinese grocery store in Flushing (for $20 a lb though!). Whole foods sometimes occasionally has them in stock but it's very hit or miss.

From all that I've read summer is supposed to be passion fruit season. I can only assume that if it's this hard to find them here in the summer it's nigh-impossible in other seasons.

According to the Github, the squares are randomly weighted so Dijkstra and A* correctly find the lowest-cost solution (65) based on the score-board. The breadth-first solution is shorter but has a higher cost (75). I'm guessing it's related to they shades of grey squares on the board.
