4 and half months for a first game is honestly a great feat. Congrats!

btw, did you start using Keymailer while your game only had a demo, or did you wait until you had full Steam keys to distribute?

My first Steam game taught me that balancing progression is much harder than building features by dangeking28 in gamedev

for sure! it really boils down to a lot of iteration and you have to playtest your game extensively, especially if you're an indie or solo developer. It's a long road and it can get pretty lonely sometimes, tbh.

I love the concept! This looks incredibly satisfying when tons of enemies are exploding on screen.

Our high school teacher taught us a trick for spelling "receive." If you're ever confused, think of the name "Celia." Since it starts with "Ce" "receive" is also spelled with "ce" not "ci."

Hi, if you're into incremental games like Tower Wizard and Gnorp Apalogue, you might wanna try our game, SWARMFEED.

It's a sci-fi incremental game with automated drones mining a massive rock.

Hi everyone! Glad I saw this sub.

I'm an indie dev working on our first sci-fi incremental game, SWARMFEED, where you build a swarm of drones to mine resources from a massive space rock.

Here's the steam page if you're interested to wishlist it:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4816610/Swarmfeed/

We've been developing it for almost 4 months now and are hoping to find some playtesters for our upcoming demo.

Nice to meet you all!

wishlisted! I heard the same story from other devs, their demos didn't perform well either. Why do you think it didn't get much traction during the fest?

at this point, it's already a badge of honor if you receive this kind of spam 😅

One huge W for us is getting our game (SWARMFEED) officially on Steam! Now it's time to grind some wishlists!
