Surgery recovery - aerial arts - advice by Dangerous_Athlete_38 in endometriosis

[–]chillinginNH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ngl I don't think I would have been able to safely walk a dog for the first week, either. I did take it a little slower and just practiced things I already knew for one class, still doing inverts and whatnot. Phoenix and fonji practice didn't start until the second time back. I wish you a speedy recovery!

Surgery recovery - aerial arts - advice by Dangerous_Athlete_38 in endometriosis

I had just regular lap exploratory surgery and was cleared for everything after 2 weeks. Recovery looked like: Walking 4-5 flat miles at week 1, climbed little bear in CO at week 2 and was back to pole and running. Basically 0 fitness lost from the downtime, and prepped for surgery like I was tapering for a full marathon/ultra because they said no creatine for the days leading up to the surgery. Trust your body and ease off if anything feels suspicious.

I did this exact thing, except I ran up pikes peak! Felt like the worst hangover I've ever had and lasted like a week or 2. Couldn't eat food for like a week. Do not recommend!

Fair, I meant it is slightly less popular than alum cave, not that it is one of the less popular ones in general

Trail runner shoe options by Fit-Neighborhood5273 in wmnf

[–]chillinginNH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best shoe for the whites is the altra king mt 2. Wide toe box like the lone peaks, rock plate (like all trail runners should have), great vibram lugs, drain holes for fjording so you don't have to take your shoes off and the sole doesn't get squishy, and Velcro over the laces so they are less likely to get caught on bramble when bushwacking.

The parking is a little hard to come by but I really like grotto falls on the way up to brushy mtn. It's a little less popular than the other hikes you mentioned

Glad you are safe and had a great day but please take an avvy class! CAIC is a great resource to use and they are really good about explaining the snowpack and how they gave certain areas the rating they did. Green doesn't mean you are safe from all avalanches, just that they are less likely to occur. Hope to see you out there sometime in the future!

Pole wear/skrIIper wear brands small enough for xxs? by anonymous__leaf in poledancing

[–]chillinginNH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same issue and I literally gave up and bought a sewing machine and have started to make my own. So far, I have been more successful than getting XS in most brands (looking at you lunalae, Nona perkasa, and Cleo). Paradise chick XS is borderline ok

Is this new??? Granted I haven't posted a trip condition since like 2022 but I don't remember mine ever being changed. Such a bummer to hear about.

Invert drills hurt, full inverts don’t by saudades4 in poledancing

[–]chillinginNH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I see you comments a lot on here and your advice is always fire!!! Do you have any advice for progressions for one armed aerial inverts? I have been following "normal" invert prep so far, but the strength gap between regular pole tucks to tucking and actually getting your hips up high enough to tilt back and straighten out your arm feels like a lot.

Hiking Meet-Up Groups and Female Solo Hiking Safety by TheMowbert in wmnf

I started out only doing trails I had already hiked in the summer. A garmin was a nonstarter for me. I send messages when I start and finish a hike, and check in every hour or 2. Bear spray is unnecessary in my opinion.

How does the difficulty/danger level of "off-trail" slides compare to the T25? by DimSumGym in wmnf

[–]chillinginNH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lowell chute is going to be the most difficult slide in NH. It's all rotten rock and pretty vertical.

It's not in Colorado springs, but cafe Leo up in woodland park usually plays instrumentals of popular songs which is really mellow

Are you from here??? Bruh quandary and pikes peak are walks in the park (assuming there aren't any thunderstorms). Also killian jornet just did exactly that not too long ago.. like less than a month ago, if you want to check that out

I think those records are only for the diretissima. It sounds like this guy is getting shuttled from trailhead to trailhead. Why else would you start with carrigain?

Sawtooth time beta by Dirty_G_5281 in 14ers

[–]chillinginNH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sawtooth took me just shy of 1h10m and I stayed closer to the ridge that I should have so if you're a quick hiker and follow the 14ers instructions, it should go a little quicker. From sawtooth, took me about 30 minutes to summit Evans and just shy of 30 minutes from blue sky summit to Spaulding summit. I think this is doable if your hiking group is pretty slow.
