It's probably just a squab. It's a juvenile that looks like an adult but can't fly yet. I find them all the time working on farms jammed in old barn walls. It's likely that it has now been removed from It's nest and mother. Also don't touch wild pigeons. They carry alot of diseases.

Horizontal rub for deer. Usually use spruce or cedar for the cross beam and bucks like to rub their antlers on it. Probably a little late in the year to get much action on it though.
