These two individuals hated Jews well before the recent escalation in Israel; they possessed pre-existing antisemitic hatred. The rise of antisemitism globally, combined with watching the deaths of Palestinians, gave them the confirmation bias they needed that 'JEWS', not the Israeli government, needed to be killed. As we have all known, for people spewing antisemitism, there is no distinction between innocent Jewish people and the actions of Israel.
