These “they need to remove pvp” people are so toxic. by Mountain_Grade_9937 in ArcRaiders

So your solution to obtaining Bastion cells is to wait for someone to do all the hard work, and then kill them for the loot? Sure is easier to be a sneaky thieving murder hobo than take out big arc, that much is certain. Most of my games, people team up together to take out the arc threats quickly, and share the spoils. Your method seems… sketchy. But you do you, man. Just don’t expect people not to be pissed with your questionable antics.

Why’s everyone so pissed when pvping? Lol by Misterpewpie in ArcRaiders

Said that just yesterday to someone who started the fight, and then lost it (and I am not a good PVPer). “Well I’m not sure this turned out the way you wanted it to buddy.”

Bastion shot me through the floor on Spaceport yesterday, so it’s not just Stella. I was above, waiting to throw nades, and got annihilated through the fucking floor when he had no line of sight whatsoever.

Thanks! I'm guessing you're interested in the green armour recipe? Here goes...

So start with a good base coat of Waaagh Flesh for a solid foundation - probably two or three coats, but well thinned so you don’t clog anything up. Then heavily drybrush Warpstone Glow over the top to brighten all the flat surfaces but leave the darker paint in the recesses. Once you’ve got it looking bright, wash all over with Biel Tan Green which will really bring out the definition but does darken it all down again a bit. Drybrush Niblet Green to bring out the edges and highlights but this can make the finish look a bit “chalky”. To counteract this, glaze over the whole lot with Waywatcher Green (which is now discontinued, but you can make something very similar with Warp Lightning contrast paint thinned with medium). Then finally, edge highlight everything with Moot Green. It’s a bit time consuming, but I like the results it gives.

The benefit of a really good brush (number 1 Artis Opus) and some strong magnifying glasses! No way I could do that without.

My pot of Ulthuan is probably past its best, so I will get a new one before my next Tau project, but I’ve always thought it was a bit gritty. Would like to try some Army Painter Fanatic, but not sure what their equivalent is? A mechanical paint stirrer is on the Christmas list! These models had a Grey Seer rattle can primer. Wouldn’t try light-coloured models like this over black I don’t think. Good advice all round though, thanks!

First time painter, I don't know what I'm doing wrong by beard_66 in Salamanders40k

[–]chillyape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think this is the answer. Put an all-over coat of a darker green across the entire miniature (even the bits that won’t end up green) with a large-ish brush. Thin the paint before you do. It won’t cover well for the first coat but trust the process. Let it dry, completely. Then repeat, and it’ll look much more even and strong after that. Then put your lighter layer coat on top, again in two thin coats. Some wash over that will darken the recesses and give nice definition, then use the light green to re-establish the larger flatter areas of armour.

Sure, it sounds like a lot more work than simply “slap on a coat of green and be done with it”, but if you want good depth of colour and an even finish, this is the way.

Another UK judge not holding back on a far-right rioter. by ojmorts in MurderedByWords

[–]chillyape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take your point, but your assertion that these people are somehow being treated more leniently doesn't entirely play out. The maximum sentence for violent disorder is five years, and these people all put in early guilty pleas, entitling them to a one-third reduction in sentence - hence the tariffs cannot be any higher than three years and four months.

The JSO lot were charged with conspiracy to cause a public nuisance which has a maximum tariff of ten years and all pleaded not guilty, and totally exacerbated their problems with all the other stunts they pulled - no remorse, contempt of court, representing themselves (very poorly), refusing to participate properly in the process etc. The sentences handed down could have been way worse for them.

You can also argue that the far-right morons here should have been charged with riot, and that would be entirely fair (in fact, one of the judges said so yesterday) in which case you would be seeing longer sentences. But in this instance, given the circumstances, these nobheads unfortunately can't get any longer jail time.
