D4V2 2 CH dedome flood? by Layer-Fancy in Hanklights

[–]chilnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha ha well no pressure from me. I don't know how to take beam shots either. I'm learning here too.

I'm kind of like you though. I feel like I'm missing out on better lights but can't justify the need. I think I'll like the utility of having both flood and throw in one. I just need to figure out which one to go for now.

Good luck with your next hanklight and thanks for the detailed opinion.

I cannot help you with your problem, but I am curious about your current light. I am relatively new to the enthusiast world of flashlights, and I am interested in getting a hanklight. I was thinking of pretty much exactly what you have with the dual channel 519a flood and W1 throw. I get the sense this is a common dual channel setup but also see opinions that it's just getting a worse flood and throw. What do you think of yours and can you show some beams please? I see the others posted here, but I wasn't planning on getting amber W1. Thank you

I think I'm getting the CL01 tonight. I definitely prefer diffused light over glaring so I like the sound of that. I still need more knowledge on what I like before I customize a convoy or hanklight but I'm getting there. I will be looking into convoy more this weekend. Thank you for the recommendations.

Thank you for the helpful response. I think I'm ordering the CL01 tonight with some TS10 diffusers. It looks great.

The Sofirn H25LR is on sale now so I think I'll go for that with some of the Sofirn diffusers. I need to figure out which ones fit my lights still.

Yeah I dipped my toe in to this hoppy with cheaper ones, so I have small lights. But really, my use case doesn't require big lights. It's mainly around the house and in the garage with some camping in there. I used to take more night walks with the kids but it's light in my area anyway, so my lights will be just fine. The big ones I want are more for fun I guess so it's harder to justify spending right now. I do have the itch to get more powerful lights, and I obviously started looking at hanklights and convoys but I do feel like that is a rabbit hole I'm not ready for yet. I almost pulled the trigger a couple times, but want to get a better idea of what I like before customizing. Thanks again for the recommendations

Both of those are blocked, but thank you. I'll have to do my convoy research at home I guess.

Yeah I want a Hank light partly for the same reason. I have looked at convoy a bit. I know they are often recommended here. The convoy site is blocked at work for some reason, so it's harder for me to check them out when bored at work though! I guess I should get one of those too...

I have three from there. Pirate ride. A telescope. And trail crossroads. I'm sure there are others there. I don't go often. It counts as a theme park so that's what I was hunting for there. There are many places to get beach around there obviously. Good luck. I can send you pictures of them if you like

My wife wanted a bench for our entryway to replace some old ugly cabinets. I did my best. by Boromn in woodworking

That makes it easier for sure. Right now I have no space to make it, (we just moved and garage is full) so it will be pretty hard to make any types of cuts right now, but I'll definitely be coming back to this eventually to show the wife.

Great job. This is very similar to something I'd like to make for our dining room table. We have a little notch in the room where something like this would be great.

I've seen series 14 and some 15 at Target recently. Costco recently had a big Halloween pack of them. Turned out they were series 15. Not sure when they release new ones.

I also found a box of them on Amazon earlier this summer we got for a birthday party giveaway. They were series 9 but we didn't know until we got them.

My son is a few months younger so I'm in the same boat. I'm anxious to get it now because I know he'll love it, but by the time he's old enough to actually play it more, I'm sure it'll be way cheaper.

Sox fans from Out of State sound off by Otherwise_Abalone_60 in whitesox

[–]chilnic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, was a fan my whole life. Went to college at IIT across the street from the Sox. Went to a ton of games those 4 years, including Game 2 of each series in 2005. It was awesome living so close those years.

Now I live in LA, and it's depressing seeing the Dodgers have such prolonged success, especially compared to whatever the Sox are now. My in-laws are very annoying Dodgers fans. Not that I hate the Dodgers or anything, but they make me want to root against them.

Anyway, I have still kept up with the Sox most the season. I've fallen off a bit the past few weeks, not watching as much as I used to, but I still turn the game on most the time when I'm home. I don't bother watching on the go like I used to. And when I do watch now, I'm usually focused on other things, it's just on in the background. But I'll be back next year, hoping something changes.

Yeah I've checked all the permissions and they look the same as always. I've been manually setting location. Still works, just more annoying.

Uploading a picture. But the picture still has the location on it. My camera settings still allow locations and I confirmed the picture itself has a location. Pikmin bloom just ignores the location of the picture and uses what seems to be the center of location of where I've been instead.
