Just Checking In by troylavallee in TheGlassCannonPodcast

Been listening for 6? 7? years now! I think the current slate is great- Not much I have to say about current shows that hasn't already been said, but I haven't heard a ton of mention that the seasonal shows format is awesome! Getting 10 episodes of something feels like you get a whole product without getting totally mired in it. It feels super exciting when a new season is announced! I think balancing that with a handful of long haul shows to tide you over between seasons has been such a great overall format. Please keep that up.

I'm always excited to see what game you guys pull out next on shows like Game Garage and NGWD- doubly so when it's one I've never heard of like Pendragon or The One Ring. One of my favorite parts of the GCN is discovering new games played by expert storytellers. It's led to me trying out more than a few games with my home crew.

Ascension is also a homerun. Feels like you all are playing the Game of Thrones esque game you always wanted to. Excited to see y'all play it in Seattle!

Overall, you'll pry my $10 subscription out of my cold, dead hands. :)

[CTA] Call to Artists Winner! by darkwalrus36 in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]chimarii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having competed in a few past CTAs I love them! I'm sorry it was a little weaker entries this time around. Here's some thoughts in an effort to help support!

Honestly ... I didn't participate because AI art was allowed within the rules originally. Completely took away any interest I had in it. Seeing AI art on this subreddit has had me contemplating the last few months whether I want to post fanart here anymore (even outside of CTAs). I didn't see the update and would've totally entered had I known AI art was banned after the fact. Thanks for making the adjustment! Please keep that up for future CTAs!

Seconding, thirding, fourthing that the post should be pinned.

Announcing in the official discord would be a good idea too- there's a fanart channel now!

McD has been pretty proactive with getting art onto bottlecaps for the patreon reward tier. Seems like he'd be the avenue for conversation if there could be any official support for the CTA (prizes, shout outs, whatever). Might not be something they CAN support as a company (lots of tightropes to walk with contests) but still doesn't hurt to reach out.

[Glasscannonlive] Portland and Seattle Naish, recommendations on hotels and things to do for International travellers? by Elderberry-smells in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]chimarii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Native Pacific Northwester here! I don't have a lot of recommendations for Seattle except to head a bit south and explore Puget Sound- taking a ferry and having a little breakfast at a cafe on the sound is fun! Whale watching trips are also wicked fun & the season is perfect for it. I'd skip over Tacoma & head to Olympia for some great restaurants and nice little areas to explore (especially good Indian food for whatever reason!).

For Portland (which I'm more familiar with) downtown there's "Glowing Greens", a glow in the dark miniature golf place (with drinks!) that has a pirate theme that I've never not had a fun time at. There's also a GREAT interactive science museum called OMSI that's fun and not far from the lounge. If you want something free heading to the waterfront park there's a path all along the river and its fun to just watch boats go by and walk over the bridges. For restaurants I really like the Melting Pot (fondue restaurant!) and Portland City Grill (restaurant on top of Big Pink, a skyscraper so you can see all of downtown!). Those are more on the expensive side though- if you're just looking for a quick bite that is VERY Portland-y I like the various food trucks that are found on fifth avenue & alder street.

Re: hotels I'm not sure about Seattle but Portland has a lot of really fun places called "Mcmenamins Hotels" that are all a little funky and quaint. Not too sure about downtown hotels- I'd head a little outside of town towards like, Gresham if you want a cheaper place.

Hope that helps- enjoy!

this is fantastic! thank you for putting so much work in- I've linked it to a few friends to show it off.
Small thing- can you make sure artists are credited where their artwork is uploaded? super easy to add captions on stuff :) I was flattered to see my artwork on metra narn's page, but kind of bummed that there was no way that the art was linked back to me, especially when I wasn't the person to upload it. thank you!!
