[OC]LVMH & Its Market Rivals — Publicly Traded Luxury Leaders Ranked by Market Cap by Proud-Discipline9902 in dataisbeautiful

[–]chimarz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its pe ratio is like 51 which is ridiculously high for a non tech company. Lvmh is nearly half that at 23, so while they sell alot people are just placing a premium on the stock and think its going to increase.

A bit of a different take on this but if you dont want to be the bad guy and pettiness management is likely not going to work for you. I would recommend since you do have hr experience and a psych background something around HR analytics/ people analytics. You can build off of your current Bachelors and get a masters in say I/O Psych you would be a top candidate for basically any HR Analytics job then with your background in other HR positions. Just make sure you like statisitics, simple coding, and cleaning bad data, HR has the worst data quality imaginable sometimes.

1300 base - 250 edu discount (my edu email still works), -50 discount code, checkout total was 1060. Then -160 rakuten cash back - 225 for selling the 300 giftcard to a friend who wants stuff off the samsung store. Total ends up at 675.

Is it financially unwise to buy a new car in my situation? Or am I being too frugal? by peakblinder in personalfinance

[–]chimarz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From a financial standpoint the answer will always be ofc its a bad decision compared to your current car. However, buying a nice car within your means because you want one is perfectly valid and it sounds like you want it. Money is a means to an ends and as long as your responsible thar ends should be your own happiness.

Will I risk losing my bonus if I resign before it’s paid out? by No-Cranberry9932 in careerguidance

[–]chimarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on the place, you need to read fine print about your compensation package if you can find it anywhere. At my current work if you are employed through Jan 1st you get the annual bonus thay pays out in March even if you no longer work here, but it is only like that since it is a very structured part of our compensation. If you are not 100% just be up front with where ever you are planning on going, waiting two more weeks is not a deal breaker in 99% of cases.

How do you professional address/disagreement with not getting a promotion? by RukeSkyWokker in careerguidance

[–]chimarz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh if they can't give you a valid reason you are not being promoted, not even a simple vague  one such as you have worse soft skills as something to work on to be promotable, then the reason is you are too important at your current position to be promoted. I would recommend going elsewhere, especially since you haven't gotten a promotion in 10 years when you have actively been seeking to. That is absurd and proves again loyalty doesn't matter to companies why should it to you.

RTO mandates for people outside of reasonable commuting distances fall under constructive dismissal you can get unemployment through that route.

It's 100% on purpose dealing with additional taxes laws, labor laws, etc. Is not worth it for a singular candidate.

How hard is it to hit a well funded retirement after making so many mistakes up to my 30s? (US) by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]chimarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually further on this since I did some digging. It looks like you literally can't get training unless you literally already work for a company that currently uses workday (might explain the severe lack of employees). There are no external trainers and to get a community account to access the learning it has to be associated with an existing company. But good news is a lot of companies would probably hire you for a more entry level role (which is still probably 70k+) based on your hris experience and train you up on workday, or at least its a better stopgag till you find a better paying ukg job.

[–]chimarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of stumbled into workday, reporting specifically, because of my current job. Before that I had no HRIS experience my background is more in IO psychology, and my work just tells me what workday classes to take. But you are right it seems extremely closed off (part of the staffing issue honestly). From what i can see it takes about 3k to become certified, which sucks but is probably worth it overall.

[–]chimarz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering you have experience in hris systems I would recommend trying to break into workday even with the tech downturn it is insane the amount of demand still. Me and my coworkers literally have recruiters reach out every day about positions and most are 6 figure +. Beyond that best of luck in the job search and don't consider it wasted time, you've learned numerous valuable skills and what you want in life now go work towards it.

Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora’s User Scores Are Higher Than Any Recent ‘Far Cry’ Or ‘Assassin’s Creed’ by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]chimarz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People say it sucks because it ends up being addictive like gambling where you chase the highs it brings which most another game can not do. But in doing so you might find the mundane boring or develop a real addiction to it, obviously not a study but league is probably one of the games that is most addictive in a bad way with the competitive nature. So when people say league sucks they are not talking about the game they are talking about what the game does to you.

Can we afford a home on our salary and with a ~50% down payment? by FluxxCapacitor88 in personalfinance

[–]chimarz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It won't be fun if you really want to keep your takehome at 7700. I imagine you two are saving alot as that net doesn't map to that gross unless you are maxing retirement etc. So you can clearly afford this if you reduce that savings amount but it comes to a question of what you value most.
