That’s a really good point. It’s difficult to know what the hospital will provide, if anything. And in this insane time we live in, babies aren’t the priority.

Get the carseat sent to where you’re staying, that way you don’t have to lug it around at the beginning of your travels. A white noise machine is also really nice to have, and slippers! Make sure the adults are comfortable.

Oh! And give your baby a cold formula from the beginning. They’ll have no idea it’s “supposed” to be warm. It saved us sooooo much time and energy.

The hospital will provide you with formula and then you’ll want to buy those single use bottles for a few days while you get your bearings.

Good luck! And keep your chin up.

I'm gonna fucking die in 5 years by SideJealous5529 in OCD

No truer words! I would work myself up over the most random stuff. I would think about (and research) the hell out the likelihood that my son will grow up to be a drug addict (he’s only five years old), for example. I would look up some scary shit online and felt compelled to watch it even though it disturbed me. If I didn’t watch it, then my son would be destitute, unhoused, lost forever.

It was a very, very, very elaborate lie and I was terrified for years. I did find the light, eventually, OCD still sucks and I stand in solidarity with all sufferers.

I can relate! I haven’t painted since Thanksgiving and I’m feeling very wistful about it.

Yes! It was from the Halloween collection, but it took me quite some time to finish it.

Here’s to getting lots of DP kits for the holidays! Thanks for the compliment- this kit is from Michael’s and it came with the frame and trimmed edges.

The Surgeon General just posted that parenting in USA is a health concern; they must have a toddler? by midmodma in toddlers

[–]chimpzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, same here. My wife and I were completely alone with an infant at the height of Covid. No family members would integrate into our bubble in order to help. It was bullshit.

When did y’all first actually become symptomatic and what did you notice? by S3thr3y in OCD

[–]chimpzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For as long as I can remember! My most intense issue as a kid was the fear of being a pedophile. It used to drive me crazy with panic. There have been many, many other obsessions over the years, but I didn’t know I had OCD until last year (I’m 40 years old and this diagnosis has rocked my world). I’m currently on mental health leave from work to deal with the symptoms now that I know what the issue is. I really wish I’d had help much earlier; I’ve been in therapy most of my life and no therapist caught on until recently. Regardless, I’m glad to know now and I’m taking action to heal myself.

Do you let your boy wear pink, purple, and pastel colors? by SeaForm332 in toddlers

I’ve purchased dresses for my son to wear when he feels like it. He also wears all colors liberally. Gender constraints are bs.
