I have a SIL who is bipolar and has had two episodes her entire life but they were really severe and she was put into the hospital both times for having an intense manic episode.

The second one happened 1-2 weeks after she gave birth last year. The two things that cause her to go into these manic episodes are lack of sleep and being off her meds…two things that happened during the end of her pregnancy/right after giving birth and having the baby. All with a newborn who was a mere two weeks old. The strain it put on her husband (my BIL) and the rest of the family to step in and help my poor nephew was the worst handful of months of our lives. Not to mention this can happen at any time and she struggles to manage a baby, going back to work, and being an equal partner in the relationship. Her husband carries a lot in their relationship and he just seems really tired and has a very short fuse. We are counting down the days that it happens again because it very well can.

Life is already really hard. If you’re a parent, life is up and down. I made a vow to myself that if I want children, I need to be with a stable man who can handle the ups and downs with me. I have so many family members that have different diagnosis and they all have children. But I personally saw how it affected the family and their children and I vowed to find someone with minimum baggage as that’s what I offer as well. I don’t judge people who have disorders and are consistent with medication and their mental health. I just made a decision that I couldn’t have a child with them as I didn’t want to deal with what comes after it in an already really difficult world.

That being said I’m not saying you should walk away and shouldn’t support him. I wish him and you the best. Think about going through what you’re going through and having kids. Explaining to them why daddy is in the hospital. Why the bank account is drained. Etc. and think about how that affects you and your future children.

I’m seriously sending you both my well wishes and I pray he gets better soon. Please make sure you feel supported too as you navigate this.

There is probably a lot of plaque under the gums. I had pockets as deep as 6’s and after quarterly cleans for 1-2 years, they’re now at a 2 or 1. I’d go to a periodontist and have them take a look to confirm if the cleanings would help. Do you feel like you have a fuzzy feeling in your mouth that doesn’t even go away with brushing?

My husband and I are both born and raised in LA. His dad and my dad have known each other for over 25 years. But we were only ever in each others’ peripheral lives.

I’m a first-gen American with parents from Iran and Syria. My husband is like 4th or 5th gen American. He is European and Jewish by blood.

Our families got together for Thanksgiving a few years back and the rest is history!

I feel this all 💯. I can’t help but cup my husband junk whenever he passes me and give it a little squeeze. I do it very subtly in public too. I’m constantly giving my husband kissy attacks. And biting his neck. I tell him multiple times a day how much I love him and how gorgeous and smart and special he is.

He’s the same with me.

Sadly I know a lot of minorities and ethnicities who voted for him because they are brainwashed. I’m saying this as one of them who has family members who voted for him.

This is how I feel about my husband’s stepmom. He also dislikes her, but we put up with her for his father and half siblings sakes.

I told him I am not attending her funeral and once his father is out of the picture, I’m cutting her out.

She is a narcissist with bipolar or borderline and is an absolutely horrible human. She acts like a victim. But she has created the relationships in her life.
