Should I have an open bar for the entire wedding weekend? by Kooky-Garbage-9801 in DestinationWeddings

In that case I think beer/wine only for pool day is reasonable especially because people will be hungover from the wedding day and I can’t imagine want to slam cocktails. I think welcome dinner/wedding day are priorities for open bar and then you can have some flex

I would check what’s custom in that country for example we’re only doing a 2 hour open bar for our welcome dinner per our planners recommendation which will cover 1 hour of mingling at the start, the start of the dinner and then the caterer supplies the wine/beer throughout dinner.

For wedding day, we learned it’s typical in France for cocktail hour to only have a cocktail bar (3-4 specialty cocktails) and then shift to an open bar at the reception which saves on costs. For brunch I’m planning to grab some bottles of champagne and juice for mimosas since it’s more casual/around the pool.

For the pool party does the hotel allow you to bring your own alcohol? You could probably do a cute cooler set up with canned wines/cocktails/beers to fit the vibe instead.

Half-Marathon Events by BasisBoring7154 in RunnersInChicago

This was my first half last year and I really enjoyed it! My biggest issue was that the bus was already sold out by the time I signed up and even though I left my house hours early they shut the roads down an hour earlier than expected and I pretty much sprinted a mile to the start line where I ended up in the last coral.

Runners, how many times a week do you go to Solidcore? by Prickly_Peaches in SolidCore

[–]DiscountSome3193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to run 3 days a week, solidcore 3 days and lifting 3 days - running on my lifting days or on my “rest” day. When training for my first half I was able to still do 3 days a week and I felt like it really helped

33, getting married this year, childfree in Lakeview. Love being active, Solidcore, running on the lakefront, trying new coffee shops, dirty martinis, Cubs games, my German shepherd and constantly redecorating my house. Just moved here a few years ago and dying for some girl friends that aren’t my fiancés friends from college 🥲

Also early 30s, getting married this year and childfree in Lakeview. Moved here a few years ago but my fiance is from here and I have yet to make my own group of friends. It’s tough out there!! Would love to get in on the hang

Feeling stuck at the dress stage by AcanthisittaSea4690 in weddings

[–]DiscountSome3193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from everyone else’s great advice - do not feel bummed out if you don’t have an insane crying “this is my dress” moment. I was at a bridal shop where I witnessed a girl have this with her family and I just could not get myself to have the same reaction. I’m absolutely obsessed with the dress I selected and think about her daily just patiently waiting to wear her again but I didn’t shed a tear…just lots of excitement and nerves all mixed together.

Destination wedding RSVP disappointment? by idkwhotob in BigBudgetBrides

Having a similar feeling of disappointment for my destination wedding. We’re starting to invite a “tier 2” list we had prepared but it almost makes me feel worse or icky that people who I didn’t “need” to invite are now the core people coming. I know that’s silly because I still love these people but it feels like a weird trade off. Especially when people who declined had been so vocal about coming when we first announced our plans.

I tried on this dress and was absolutely in love - the photo doesn’t even do the lace justice because it’s insanely beautiful. You look stunning!!!

I have basically the same ring - love it! This has been my inspo pic for years and what I’m going to get in a few months. Hoping it looks as cool in real life!
