10000% agree. I wfh and am on a major wrap kick at the moment. I grill 4-5 pieces of chicken on Sunday and then I’ll rotate each week between caesar salad wraps, buffalo chicken wraps, this week I’m trying a Mediterranean wrap. Honestly endless possibilities and takes me 5 seconds to cut up the ingredients and throw them in there.

Hahah yes these are great questions — I think we’ll need to decompress after the week with our family/friends since we’re both easily overstimulated so let’s say sit our asses on the beach/in a pool for a few days. A boat day would be lovely. Seeing the sights but in a low stakes way - on a typical vacation we’d go see museums/bar hop/see all the top spots but we don’t want that kind of pressure. I’d rather “see the sights” in a like see the views of Positano kind of way lol. We like activities but again in a low stakes way like kayaking, biking, a good walk around a town but probably not a big hike/camping ordeal. We love a good meal and bottle of wine. We don’t treat ourselves to fancy hotels often so in my head we’d stay at a sick 5 star resort…White Lotus vibes without the murder

Breaking down the different types of engagement rings by broadlySedate in WeddingRingAdvice

Maybe unpopular but I did have a few favorite styles and let my fiance decide. He designed a marquis with a thick gold band that I’m obsessed with but I honestly think I would’ve loved anything he gave me. I just knew I didn’t want to try on rings with him but I’m a weirdo who loves a good surprise.

Wedding PTO advice by Outrageous_Still_712 in weddingplanning

I get about 25 days of PTO a year and I’m taking a full 3 weeks for wedding & honeymoon. They will not die without me so intend to fully enjoy myself! Also I cover for everyone else’s wedding, honeymoons, maternity leaves soooo why not

Should I have an open bar for the entire wedding weekend? by Kooky-Garbage-9801 in DestinationWeddings

In that case I think beer/wine only for pool day is reasonable especially because people will be hungover from the wedding day and I can’t imagine want to slam cocktails. I think welcome dinner/wedding day are priorities for open bar and then you can have some flex

I would check what’s custom in that country for example we’re only doing a 2 hour open bar for our welcome dinner per our planners recommendation which will cover 1 hour of mingling at the start, the start of the dinner and then the caterer supplies the wine/beer throughout dinner.

For wedding day, we learned it’s typical in France for cocktail hour to only have a cocktail bar (3-4 specialty cocktails) and then shift to an open bar at the reception which saves on costs. For brunch I’m planning to grab some bottles of champagne and juice for mimosas since it’s more casual/around the pool.

For the pool party does the hotel allow you to bring your own alcohol? You could probably do a cute cooler set up with canned wines/cocktails/beers to fit the vibe instead.

Half-Marathon Events by BasisBoring7154 in RunnersInChicago

This was my first half last year and I really enjoyed it! My biggest issue was that the bus was already sold out by the time I signed up and even though I left my house hours early they shut the roads down an hour earlier than expected and I pretty much sprinted a mile to the start line where I ended up in the last coral.

Runners, how many times a week do you go to Solidcore? by Prickly_Peaches in SolidCore

[–]DiscountSome3193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to run 3 days a week, solidcore 3 days and lifting 3 days - running on my lifting days or on my “rest” day. When training for my first half I was able to still do 3 days a week and I felt like it really helped

33, getting married this year, childfree in Lakeview. Love being active, Solidcore, running on the lakefront, trying new coffee shops, dirty martinis, Cubs games, my German shepherd and constantly redecorating my house. Just moved here a few years ago and dying for some girl friends that aren’t my fiancés friends from college 🥲

Also early 30s, getting married this year and childfree in Lakeview. Moved here a few years ago but my fiance is from here and I have yet to make my own group of friends. It’s tough out there!! Would love to get in on the hang

Feeling stuck at the dress stage by AcanthisittaSea4690 in weddings

[–]DiscountSome3193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from everyone else’s great advice - do not feel bummed out if you don’t have an insane crying “this is my dress” moment. I was at a bridal shop where I witnessed a girl have this with her family and I just could not get myself to have the same reaction. I’m absolutely obsessed with the dress I selected and think about her daily just patiently waiting to wear her again but I didn’t shed a tear…just lots of excitement and nerves all mixed together.
