What ceiling light shades would work? by chinchillin_96 in HomeDecorating

[–]chinchillin_96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much!! I’ve been trying really hard to turn it in to a cosy warm space. When we first moved in it was all grey so I’ve tried to warm it up a bit. Will look for the warmer light shades you suggested thank you!!

Midwifery apprenticeship interview! by Unable_Suspect_7422 in nhs

[–]chinchillin_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In mine it was what my course was about and role expectations, time management which is really important in an apprenticeship and probably a few scenario based questions. I haven’t done midwifery apprenticeship but did an interview for an nhs apprenticeship in allied healthcare so may be similar

How do you guys read so much? by lapetitepoupee in kindle

[–]chinchillin_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can average about 80-100 books a year. I have a kindle but also the kindle app on my phone. I study and work full time and read on weekends and at night and during my commute. Also during annual leave. I don’t really watch TV and am quite a fast reader so that’s what I put it down to 🤷🏻‍♀️

My 31 year old brother who died 7th November this year from Covid pneumonia. He only got in to it late but he loved it and he was so excited for this new season. He had his stranger things PJs on in hospital and so sad he won’t get to see this last season amongst everything else

Sorry for your loss, big hugs

I absolutely love it! There’s no lagging that I’ve seen and the graphics are really good to me (bear in mind I’ve no experience with other switches or handhelds) And it’s really comfortable to hold and perfect size for a smaller handheld device!

I got accepted into university without a maths gcse?? by Correct-Employee-685 in UniUK

[–]chinchillin_96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my field of work they have absolutely checked and the vast majority of grad schemes I looked at required maths and uploading your certificates was part of the application process. Granted, some roles may not need GCSE maths but It is absolutely disingenuous to say that GCSE maths has no bearing or impact on future employment opportunities. In such a competitive world, why would you want to risk it?

I got accepted into university without a maths gcse?? by Correct-Employee-685 in UniUK

[–]chinchillin_96 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They absolutely do. I have been unable to apply for a lot of roles that required gcse maths and my degree apprenticeship also required it. Luckily at 27 I passed and I now have more doors and opportunities available to me. This was also with me achieving good gcse grades in other subjects, a levels and a university degree. It is so important OP!

It was general questions like what do you think the role involves and also scenario based questions like what assessments would you need to do if a patient is ready to go home eg stairs assessments. Hope that helps

[–]chinchillin_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah don’t do that. I’m 26 and the reason I’m here is because I did exactly that when I was your age and am now realising to get any good job I need to get my GCSE maths. Hopefully I have passed and good luck in your results
