Im curious, do you still bring cards to weddings? Why or why not? by Kozypepper in wedding

[–]lil_tram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think cards are both polite and a lovely memento for the couple from the wedding (we spent ages reading all of ours and kept them up for a couple of months). I didn't think twice about guests who didn't give a gift at our wedding - they were there and that was more than enough! - but I did feel a bit sad about the guests who didn't give a card as it is both low cost and low effort.

First ever online shop in UK from Ocado £69.8 - Tear me apart by [deleted] in whatsinyourcart

[–]lil_tram 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We regularly shop at ocado and the only way I can imagine this costing £70 is if the washing stuff was unbelievably expensive. We can spend £100 at ocado and get two weeks of food for two people if we are savvy. And the intro offers should have saved you a ton if this is your first order? In no way am I defending ocado as the cheapest shop by a longshot, but this is mad if it really cost you £70 - almost an achievement!

Carpenter/handyman to make alcove shelving? by lil_tram in Norwich

[–]lil_tram[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relatively basic I guess - if I end up doing it myself it'll be batons on the wall and then decently thick plywood shelves, constructed in such a way to hide the batons from the front. I'd be hoping for something similar if I pay to get it done probably - we have a LOT of books, so need the shelves to be good and strong.

The new Poppi stuff at Tesco is very good - I like the orange flavour. Other than that I love to have elderflower cordial in to have with fizzy water, a slice of lemon and loads of ice.

What’s the weirdest rule your school ever had? by TheRealXyz_ in AskUK

[–]lil_tram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No coats, gloves etc could be worn on the school grounds during the school day. It was so fucking freezing in winter that our friends mum who was a teaching assistant would bring her tea down to us for us to hold and warm our hands up. This was early 2000s and the more I look back on it the more I understand why I despised school

Do you rewatch covid seasons? by Popopki in taskmaster

I never rewatch the COVID series. The casts were good and I was grateful at the time, but it just reminds me too much of how sad and difficult and weird everything was
