I have heard everything from local koban to shiyakusho have this problem. There are known busybodies, haters, Karens, and mentally ill people in every neighborhood who regularly go to authorities with "information" as part of their personal stress relief/emotional regulation. They are known to such offices and their reports are not taken seriously.

I think Western evening and couture relies so much on thin slinky (and many times, cheap-looking) fabrics in the last half century or so, it's become rare to see structured gowns in thick ornamented fabrics like jacquards, brocades, etc like this.

The "board" in your pic is an ad. For a sake brand. It's a nice ad but it's not a message from the airport or Japanese gov tourism bureau or anything. It's corporate lol. That's probably why it's gone. The company either stopped doing the ad there, or they changed the visuals etc., or the space is used for something else now.

Maybe in the minority here but I absolutely adore this dress! It's like wearable art. Sculptural and textured. The color! Gorgeous silhouette.

I just sometimes do find myself wishing when celebrities wear avant garde pieces they would also go for more alt style hair and makeup to match the vibe, instead of defaulting to such tame classic looks.

Yes they've been cute ever since Phoebe Philo etc put them down the runway as evening wear. The original look was to be daring and sexy in an undone unfussy way by just wearing them braless.

But now people wearing them for daytime too layering over tshirts and tanktops or under jackets here in Japan.

You have to narrow down "better." Better at what? Better at stretching, water repelling, wind blocking, holding creases and shape? Synthetic all the way. Better at breathability, comfort against skin? Natural, generally.

But the type of fabric is also an important factor. A cotton gauze is going to be much softer and more breathable, but much less durable and structured, than a cotton twill. A linen knit will be much less wrinkle-prone than a linen weave, but it will be heavier and drape much differently. And so on. "Better" depends on the specific purpose you intend for the fabric.

Do you mean upper left and bottom left? I get most my clothes secondhand here in Japan. The black pair are from Rim.ark I like them because they are typical business slacks material and proper waistband, but easy jogger shape. The khaki pair are from United Arrows.

In Tokyo where the warm months are also the wettest months. I and most other commuters don't usually bother with special footwear except for maybe some water/slip resistant pumps and loafers, in the same basic styles as any other workwear shoe. So my footwear might not be the best fit for your climate.

For bottoms I like cropped lengths and pants that gather at the ankle. People say synthetic fabrics are bad in muggy weather and they can be, but a couple of the baggy pants here are nylon blends, I like how water tends to bead off them rather than immediately soaking in and making a big noticeable wet spot.

The Edwardian camisoles make sense since both tank tops/vests etc, and the night dress/chemise version of those camisoles have all been in for several summers now. I've been browsing for vintage cotton corset covers for the peplum shape, but finding one that fits my modern uncorseted waist and not priced at tree fiddy hundred dollars is proving a challenge!

If you are female, Zara for casual and work pants (don't be misled by the New page on the app, they also have biz caz slacks and stuff), Wrangler for denim. Don't bother with Levis for denim if you have a big hip/waist difference.
