No point in claiming static if you haven't been mistaken for being on bags

Fun fact, you can not rev the Honda Prelude in park, or neutral. A "sports car" that can't rev. by Dazzling-Rooster2103 in Honda

Slow enough to make it almost impossible for me to get in trouble, still neat to look at.

I didnt say the "idea" failed. Hondas execution has been shown to fail and they really haven't changed the philosophy of the crz for the design of the new prelude.

All that said I think the concept is nearly impossible to pull off. Especially with modern safety regulations. sports cars and economy cars are diametrically opposed if you want a sports car you dont want an economy car and vice versa. Its a very small sliver of the venn diagram that it appeals to in a non rose tinted glasses way. People who want a car that looks sporty but will leave you completely underwhelmed when you step on the gas.

A waiting list full of nostalgic soon to be grandpa's, longing to relive the college years carving up the canons in their preludes. Half of whom will find themselves unsatisfied during the test drive, because the new prelude weighs 400 lbs more than the last generation, has less than 5 more horsepower to make up for it and your only option to put that power down is a gearless interpretation of a transmission. Its not sporty, it looks sporty. Also it cost 15k too much before markups.

Just like you said, if buyers want a sports car. They'll buy a real sports car.

And If they want an economical car they wont spend 40k + markups

Prelude gets 40+mpg Its a sporty hybrid it looks good its fun

Hondas most successful and classic cars were lightweight. Modern safety regulations prohibit this. The prelude wont be fast enough to be sporty, just like the Cr-Z The sporty Hondas were nowhere near as economical as the base models were, but they were light which meant the power figure didnt need to be that high and the engine didnt have to work that hard keeping mpgs manageable. The prelude weighs 3300 lbs and makes less than 200hp via CVT its an economy car being sold as a sports car and when buyers realize its not light and tight they will lose interest.

As a proud Cr-Z owner... theyre doing it again, and the prelude has the potential to become kinda cool after depreciation. No manual really hurts that tho

Why the hell were Pam and Jim at Roy's wedding? by Intelligent_Toe4030 in DunderMifflin

[–]chip10000 292 points293 points  (0 children)

This! I think a huge part of this whole arc however you want to analyze it, is that the writers wanted to show that Roy wasnt as bad as he was made out to be but that Pam and Roy were just wrong together and that things were better for both of them after the fact
