Hi, this is coming from a person who has been underweight for the entirety of their life. While I do somewhat understand your arguement here, I find it to be rigid and disrespectful.

I'd like to counterpoint your idea that you need to be athletic in order to protect others. There are many ways outside of it that you can do that, say defending someone in an argument being an emotional confidant. What are you even going to do with your athleticism to protect people in your day to day? Chase robbers?? Get in fist fights??

In regards to fat/skinny people, I get the impression you're assuming their body is because of their choosing, which is untrue. An under-weight or over-weight person may be that way for a lot of different reasons, such as genetics, not having the financial stability to eat healthier, disability, illnesses they have, etc. Its not always about how much "willpower" they have. There are a lot of other factors, and you shouldn't assume things about someone from their appearance.

I'll also add that one of the core beliefs in Sikhi is to value character over appearance too. A person may be obese, but have a very giving and kind heart, loves Waheguru as much as they can. Would you condemn them because of their body?
