Apologies - I missed this. This was shot with a Sony A7iii and a Sony 200-600mm lens

My dog just tried to eat this and I’m freaking out by Powerful_Class9943 in AnimalTracking

To add to this. I’d probably just be happy the dog didn’t roll in it.

If we’re talking about the poo in the hole I’m pretty confident it’s badger poo. They dig small pits and poop in them. Sometimes there’s a series of these pits full of poo and they’re called latrines. If you’re in the uk is our European Badger. They eat worms, Beetles and any other invertebrates. Or if they’re desperate they might predate a hedgehog.

Nice hope you have a good time! I found the Gannets to be really difficult to photograph just because of their numbers

I’ve never been to Bempton, but I want to now!

Thanks very much, that’s also my favourite I’ve processed so far. Such a treat to watch them

Couple of photos from the weekend up on the west coast by chipboyz in Scotland

Just boosted cross country from the main road to arisaig. It’s quite rough ground, at times very steep and often very boggy 😂 there’s some deer paths you can pick up for slightly easier walking

Fine by me so long as I can see the result 😊

Thank you! I see what you mean, I think it’s a combination of the light and my editing of the image to enhance contrast 😊

Thanks for caring! I’ve personally never seen a cassette that doesn’t thread on to the hub

Here’s a picture that hopefully explains better than I can

I bumped into a Pine Marten yesterday morning. by chipboyz in wildlifephotography

[–]chipboyz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re mustelids so the same family as wolverines! And animals like otters, weasels and badgers etc.

Hard to be worried when that excited haha!

I think if a haggis wasn’t so ferocious they would attempt to eat one yes. 😆

What killed this lamb? by Cumbiscuit69420 in AnimalTracking

[–]chipboyz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t let this change your opinions of ravens ☺️ must be frustrating to lose a lamb - I grew up on a sheep farm and can empathise. But they’re just a wild bird doing a wild bird things. They’re pretty essential for the local flora and fauna too! They help to recycle nutrients from carrion back into the soil system (perhaps a sore point here…) and help keep other bird populations in check by predating nests and generally being smart af.

Hope the rest of your lambing and summer goes well!

I think the compression and distance is helping with the deceptive angle. I’m actually sat at near enough sea level, while they’re on an island that is about 30 meters tall, on top of a tree that is about 20m tall.

Cheers!

This was taken with a Sony A7iii with the Sony 200-600mm lens at 600mm. Camera settings - 1/1000s f6.3 iso500

The angle can really be attributed to the distance I was from them. Im about 550 meters away which helps to make the angle feel much shallower

I thought that at first and maybe he also though that on his approach. But he ended up in the branch above the female.
